Official LA Angels of Anaheim Thread

I didnt see a Halo thread so I thought OS could use one.

At this point of the season, we have pretty much wrapped up the West. The key will be is to keep the injuries to a minimum and the pitching is going to have to keep pitching deep into games. If we just get back Escobar, it should be an exciting matchup versus the Red Sox in the playoffs.

Re: Official LA Angels of Anaheim Thread

Rumors are going aroung that the Angels may be looking for a big name reliever. Preferably a lefty, like Groom or Wagner. This asking price has been to high and according to the Phillies Wags is off the block. I was wondering if you guys think we need another arm, or someone to make that DH spot a little more productive than the .250 4 HRS and 40+ RBI's?

Thoughts...

Well a little update here, after losing a stunner last night in 18 innings and the night before, we come into Yankee stadium with a rookie pitcher, and shuts down the Yanks. Kind of hard to do, getting swept by the Blue Jays, then smoking the Yanks.

Re: Official LA Angels of Anaheim Thread

I think that the primary concern is DH. I would jump for joy if we got Manny, but it aint happenin. I think the best guy we could get is Mike Sweeny. He would provide the role of a much needed DH.

Wagner would be a welcome addition, but not a necessary one. Our bullpen has been arguably one of the best in the league, and I dont think this should be our primary concern.

Re: Official LA Angels of Anaheim Thread

Mike Sweeny would be great, but I dont see KC giving up that chip without a big cost to a farm system.

A Phil Nevin aquisition would have been a decent addition. Played for anaheim before. And for what the Rangers gave up (Chan HO Park) We could have given up anyone in our farm system for Nevin. We'll see...Hopefully Davanon, Rivera, and Co can pull it together and get that DH spot producing. I've heard Piazza coming to town...Dont know about that...

Tough game against the Yankees, Frankie needs to take time off. FOUR walks in the ninth innning, why dont you just give the game. At least make them earn it. Come on, you made it a full count when Cano was bunting. Even worse, Oakland is up 6-3. We want Wagner!

Re: Official LA Angels of Anaheim Thread

I didnt catch today's game, but I read that it was a thriller. Nice to see the Molinas go yard, only other brothers to do it in same game is Jason and Jeremy Giambi.

This roadtrip has been a disaster with us losing six of seven games. Its not like were getting dominated, except for that one game where we somehow lost to the Jays 8-0, most games have been tight like todays.

Its obvious that these guys need a couple days rest. The bullpen right now is in shambles, and the defense commiting three errors today, uncharacteristic.

We got struggling Baltimore comming into town for a three game set and then the awful DRays in a three game set. I see us winning five of the six games, and anything shorter could bump us down to second place behind Oakland, who after the homestand, we visit in a crucial three game set. Should be good.
