I was along the same lines as you until my game last night. 3 for 4 and a RBI. Then the next game I'm on a cold streak. WTF? After that game, I immediately turned that option off. That doesn't make any sense at all.

@wudl83
I get your point, but it's wrong in couple of ways. I do understand how h/c streaks work. I get that it's a wider period than 2-3 games(4 weeks to be precise) and it pays attention to all categories, not just rbis or hrs. But still, if i lead the league in every possible hit category except triples, how can they go down? I have best BA, HR, OBP, SLUG, RBIS, DOUBLES, 1B, TB. Hell, i even lead the league in steals. There is absolutely no reason for my ratings to go down for 1 point(every single one of them) . Or Pujols for that matter. His other numbers aren't bad at all, actually he is in top 10 in most categories. So i could only find 1 solution, our overall ratings were 2 high for us to be in hot streaks(as we should). So basically, if you have a player of 95+ overall, count on him to be in cold streak unless he puts up some monster-like numbers during 4 week period.

I am so dominant that in 3Baseman voting for all star, i have 1.8 millions, 2nd place guy has 400000.... So how can i lose a point per rating, so that my overall is 96 in games, not the real 97?

Trying my first 'My Player' pitcher.. starter named Rubber Arm.. almost hope to create another Bert Blyleven.. though I chose my most hated team, the Yankees for him to start his career

Brought a no-hitter into the 6th inning in first game, the pitcher I created is Fastball, Sinker, Cutter 7k's 2 hits for 6 innings, stranded men on 2nd and 3rd on one of my 3 called third strikes.. aka backwards K's

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?

Only got this game to get pumped up to go to some Mariner games (got tickets for 3 days of M's vs RedSox @ Safeco) going to be fun.

Anyways..."My Player" is a Catcher. one word on the game play...AWKWARD! mostly in the baserunning. Can't wait to see how he turns out, I'm just doing the My Player as a self training, then i'll start a franchise.

I think playing as a Catcher is cool because the fielding is super relaxed,ie bunt, pop, block an occasional plate.

Basically i'm with machinarium:
"Well, i also struggled a lot in key games. Everything in my player mode comes with time. I loved my struggles when i was a Rookie, even though i hated the fact that i won't be ROTY. It added realism in this game for me."

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?

First off, I absolutely LOVE this mode. I'm straight-up addicted to it.

I have a power-hitting 2B with no speed and terrible range in the field.
The problem is, while making errors and running with a fridge on my back, I'm not hitting either, haha. Or I should say, I wasn't hitting.

The first 25 games in AA were rough. I started off great hitting over .600 in the first 2 games. Then reality set in.

By the 25-game mark, I was hitting under .250 with 0 bombs and only 6 RBI's.
But then it started to click. Slowly but surely I was able to build up enough points and suddenly I began hitting. A lot.

I'm now hitting .312, have 4 HR's and 32 RBI's - these numbers are all over the past 11 games.
I'm really hitting the ball with authority and even my speed has gotten slightly better.

I have no idea when I'll get called into AAA, but right now I'm having a blast in AA.
I even managed to hit a game-winning grand-slam in the top of the 9th. Too bad it wasn't at home, I would have loved to see the walk-off scene.

I might make a starting pitcher soon too.

The only thing I dislike about My Player is that I don't know if I'll ever get back to my Tigers franchise, LOL.

For 2K13 (if there is one), they really need to add in the interview process ala NBA2K12.
Maybe not have an interview after every game, and especially while in the minor's, but it'd be a nice feature to have once you've made it to the Show.

Power Hitter and second base rarely go together

I don't need an interview/press conference every game, but I think it would be cool to have the manager talk to you rather than have a 'message center' where the manager emails you..get a grade for the convo with him or something like that. I mean come on, the manager is right there in the dugout with you during the game, he's not watching the game on TV.

Re: MLB 2k12 How's Your My Player Going Thread?

My starting pitcher didn't get called up in his first minor league season.. but I really didn't want to be either kept it close and he's starting spring training with the team.. the low composure kicked my butt in minor league starts going 4-6 though ERA was only about 3.46 .. figured I'd get composure and master the three pitches and be up in 2nd season before the all-star break IF this spring training vs major league hitters doesn't kick my butt
