I've advocated adding a Playbook Knowledge rating so that you can't trade for a new player in midseason and plug him into your lineup right away. There's got to be limitations if you do that like running the wrong route, taking a handoff on a playaction pass, dropping back to throw on a run play, that kind of stuff.

I agree, if they get them to work it'll be fine. Clutch rating ehhh not to much because any QB can get hot and lead their team down the field to score.

Not that I disagree, but you cant deny some players are more clutch than others.

If there is two minutes left in the 4th quarter and a team is down by 4, I think a player with a high clutch rating (Tom Brady, Adam Vinetari) would get a boost in ratings (ie...+5 awr, +5 acc) while a player with a low clutch rating (Tony Romo, Jake Delhomme) would lose some (-5 acc and awr).

I think a clutch rating would be great if implemented correctly. I question EA's ability to do it right, though.

I agree. Also, if they ever decide to include a create-a-play or modify playbook feature (like what was in 2k 6 years ago), there should be a drop in awareness accross the board for a time, or if there is a playbook knowledge rating, it should go down.

I think for the QB a pressure handling rating of some sort (maybe the "clutch" rating people are talking about.

For example, Alex Smith, the 49ers QB, is very physically talented. He can throw the ball accurately, but it has been the case that when he is pressured his accuracy drops down quite a bit. So, if there was a rating that reflects this, like whenever there is a good pocket and the QB is safe from pressure, he throws at his accuracy level, but if he is pressured, his pressure rating causes his accuracy rating to drop, based on how high his handle pressure rating is.

QBs like Tom Brady will still see a drop in accuracy with pressure, but it will a much smaller drop because of their high pressure handling rating.

I don't know if it's tied into with awareness for QB's but howabout a pocket awareness rating? In some of the games I've watched this year I've seen JaMarcus Russell and Jason Campbell have almost none!!! Just a thought though.

Pass rush vs. Run stop ability distinguished for defenders. Block shedding and power/finesse moves should have different weights based off run vs. Pass.

How would you judge clutch ability?

Based on a couple games? Based on 4th quarter only? Based on close games? Based on...?

I wouldn't want to see anything like this. I don't think EA would do it right and I think it would be far too subjective on top of already subjectively determined ratings like AGI or PRS.

I think clutch just means 'good.' The better players are usually more clutch, and that can be represented in the current attributes.

There are plenty of players who are know for choking despite being excellent players.
