The rushing stats can be fixed by using NZA's franchise editor. Using NZA's editor you can do anything from edit any player to customize draft classes and the salary cap. I even use it to import rookie portraits for guys I draft like N. Suh, D. Bryant etc. It really adds to the immersion when your picks have real portraits.
Thanks. I have successfully downloaded and installed needed files and have run Madden 08 in the FF mode. I still do not see the Sideline Camera option mentioned in one of the emails in this thread. In fact, camera options appear to be no different than in the default Madden 08 game mode. Other than the camera question, I am loking forward to spending some time in Madden 08 in Coach Mode with the FF mods.

Open NZA's editor through MadModX. Go to File>Open, then find and open your franchise file (.fra, typically in my documents/madden nfl 08/saved). Then go to Edit>Franchise, the first tab has a check mark to turn on sideline view.

Edit: Although I do vaguely remember a screen in some program that listed several camera angle choices I can't seem to find it now, if it ever existed. I am truly sorry if I misinformed you. This is in response to my origonal post in which I said there were multiple camera angles, the sideline view does in fact exist.

Re: anyone play Madden 08 on PC?

I used to limit my PC to RPG / RTS games, but most RPGs are coming out on the 360/PS3 now, so it's down to RTS games. I'm curious about Madden on the PC, were the graphics any better, or about the same as the consoles?

Art - You need to add the sideline camera mode using NZAs editing utility (I believe... been a while). I'm pretty sure it will be in the franchise editor and be a box that you need to check that says "sideline camera". Once you check and save, it should be there as an option in-game. Personally, I have not downloaded the FF10 mod, (I used the '09 mod) but I can't believe they would remove that feature.

Good luck and have fun.

Valdarez - Graphics are the drawback. When the consoles went next-gen, the PC model was left in the dust. Pretty much the same graphics since '05... only slightly better, IMO. Not that they are horrible by any stretch (think PS2-ish), but next to Madden '10... no contest. Think it still runs on DX7... yes, very outdated. Actually looking at getting a new Asus PC with Windows 7, but the deal breaker might be if I can play Madden '08 on it. (P.S. If anyone knows how Madden '08 for the PC runs on Windows 7... let me know)

It's the total control, exportable files, customizable everything that gives the PC version it's edge for those wanting to be able to change anything and everything. There are tools out there to rip the program to shreds and make it anything you want. I've had fun for years with it. The graphics are definitely what makes me try the newer console versions, though. But... I always end up going back. Hope that helps!

Re: anyone play Madden 08 on PC?

I played Madden extensively on PS2 and PC, Madden 08 on PC with the highest settings is definitely better looking than its console brothers. I personally think it looks better than Madden 10 for 360 when in motion, mostly because the running animations are so much more life like.

As for the Windows 7 question...yes, I have been running Windows 7 for the last 2 months and Madden hasn't crashed even once yet (that can't be said for some other programs/games I've tried).

Thanks for the info. What type of machine are you running to get higher end graphics and does it make a substantial difference? How does it compare to PS3 or 360? My guess is much worse. Just curious, because that may help make my decision on whether to get a new PC or not. Looking at one specifically geared for gaming (Asus duo-core, 1066MHz system bus, 3MB L2 cache, 2.13GHz processor speed per core, 4GB DDR2 memory - not top end, but better than what I currently run). Any information to assist that decision would be appreciated.

Re: anyone play Madden 08 on PC?

I play on a laptop with every setting at the highest level. 2 x 2.10GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 8700M GT, 4Gb DDR2 RAM. I'm sure any new desktop can easily handle Madden 08 on the highest settings, and the specs you listed are definitely more than good enough assuming you get a decent video card.

Based on your previous post I don't think you would find it better than Madden 10 even at the highest settings. I just don't think Madden 10 looks good at all because every animation looks so robotic. It definitely does look better than lower settings though. In particular the weather games look incredible. I am in awe when playing rain games as the field looks awesome, the players get progressively muddier and rain pours down on the camera during cinematics. Overall the field looks more realistic than Madden 10's do, and in my opinion the player models ,while not as detailed, look much more realistic in terms of the shape of the human body in a football uniform. The only things I feel Madden 10 has over Madden 08 visually are the intro sequences and the stadiums/crowd.

Keep in mind I am not just trying to bash Madden 10, although I do hate it. I still play Madden 10 in a very active sim-oriented Online Franchise and do have fun as long as I'm not playing the cpu.
