Good call on the LDT. RDT's always get double teamed.

Re: What position do you user control on defense?

Up until last year, I would always user the FS. I was awesome in Madden 11 with Earl Thomas roaming the deep middle. I probably averaged ~2 user picks per game.

Last year I started to user the MLB on every play. Generally if I'm in my base 43 under, I'm in a cover 2 zone or 2 man and the MLB has a zone over the middle or is covering the RB. I usually disregard covering the RB in the flats unless someone starts to exploit me on that. I've found that MLB is a better fit because you can still patrol the short-mid range passing game in the middle of the field, and you don't have to worry about the deep ball. Also, the deep ball allows more time to switch to a FS or CB while the balls in the air whereas if you're usering the FS at the snap, there is very little time to switch to the MLB while the ball is in the air to a pass over the middle.

I've recently started playin SS ini Madden 12 (before I tradeed it in) and NCAA 13 and I really like that position. I love delivering hard hits to RBs sprinting through the hole.

Cornerback, nothing like taking out a team's #1 receiver

Say you play as a FS, and the ball gets throw on the opposite side of the field, do you guys change players with the Circle/B (is it B on Xbox?) button? Or do you guys let your team's AI sort it out?

Just that I'm joining a SIM league, and I need to know what's acceptable play. Myself personally, I'd change player to the player nearest the ball, but if that's deemed unacceptable SIM play, I will change that

I usually switch but after reading the rule in sim league forums I figure the adjustment is necessary but it will probably take some time to get used to

I personally would use (B/Circle) to put me on the closet player to the ball and if I'm still a little out of position, use (A/X) for defensive assist to put me in a better position for the ball, then I can go for the catch (Y/Triangle) or the swat (LB/L1).

I just let it play out. Too many times have I switched where it just screwed me over by going to a CB or something and messing everything up. If its a deep ball you can switch no problem though

Re: What position do you user control on defense?

For the last two days Ive started to mainly use the MLB. I play with the 49ers and Patrick Willis is already a beast, but I love it. It feels like you are a lot more involved in the plays. With a defensive lineman, it is basically just go sack the QB or try to get to the RB before he gets past the line of scrimmage. Playing MLB I will sometimes have to guard someone in man, sometimes play my zone, or sometimes blitz. My favorite thing to do though is put him in a Spy and after the play develops for a second, I decide if I want to come on like a delayed blitz or help in pass coverage.

I had a go of the NCAA demo yesterday, and on D I played as the MLB, and I really enjoyed it. It felt good when I sniffed out a few screens and dropped the RB behind the line for a loss
