Ending Games (Making Madden Better)

In an effort to make Madden a better experience and add some constructive criticism; I think it is vital that we start talking about different ways to Make Madden Better.

I am an offline Madden gamer and Franchise Mode is probably my favorite mode in any sports game. However, when I win (or lose) a game I don't see what I feel I should see from the players or coaches.

Re: Ending Games (Making Madden Better)

I can't watch the video at work but as far as ending games as a fellow offliner, I wish there was an 'end-game' button [outside of supersim].

Instead of having to rattle off 3 kneel downs and having to wait for the clock to run down b/c it doesn't accelerate , I'd like a button that pops up that just says end game.

It would be the equivalent of watching the game on TV and once it's completed decided within two minutes, the broadcast transitions to another game on the schedule.

i agree with everything u said i hate being up huge but yet have wait for the clock run out... and the celbrating like u just pulled off a huge comeback or upset when when like u said are beating a team huge and they score a late td is just about laughable.they do need to fix them though. what i also hate is if a players injuried sometimes the game gets stuck on the replay then it shows the sidelines and the players in huddle even after the player is put on cart and taken off. u should be able to go onto next play not be forced sit there and watch a reply.

A good idea would be to add a tv style ending to games. Show player and fan reactions, talk about what each team did, talk about next week, playoff race, rattle off producers and the like, and make it one long cutscene. If nothing else commentary would be nice. Right now its kneel down. Then silence til next kneel down.

Overall it should be very seamless.

I agree when there is more time on the play clock then the game clock and your leading it should just show the players shaking hands like they do and walking off the field with commentary seamlessly flowing into an outro talking about the game and next week

That was an excellent video by the OP again highlighting the needed emphasis on attention to details and the lack of transitional presentation elements.

This post I quoted is an good example of how EA/Tiburon could take advantage of situations like those in video to use immersive presentation elements and scripted banter, like they do at the beginning of the game. I have absolutely no idea how the in-game commentary will be in M13 but the opening game stuff we have seen so far is impressive. So anytime they have an opportunity to utilize those type of presentation elements in Madden, they need to.

Re: Ending Games (Making Madden Better)

Even Tecmo Super Bowl had a cut scene when you won your division. In Madden unless you go into the season menu and check the standings you wouldnt even know until the next game when the playoff standings banner pops up

As you said it would be nice to have end of the game stat comparisons for both the teams and some individuals. Or clip some meaningful highlights with Nantz and Simms talking over them. (Kind of like in NCAA when they have it during the game -- I forgot what they call it)

I wish there was a walk-off button. If I'm winning big, and there's no hope for the opponent to comeback ... let me end it instead of having to take a ton of knees. A simple knee and a walk off would be great. Press it and it triggers a scene where the teams take to the field and the game ends.

Re: Ending Games (Making Madden Better)

I'd like to a "cutaway" for blow out games... they could cut in on a closer divisional game, go around the league... that'll never happen (I can dream though). The most we can hope for is supersim that doesn't have you loosing a 42-10 4th qtr lead.
