Re: Changing a players position.

I am not "glass half full" on position editing being removed either, I have been referring to how no position changes will potentially impact the CPU teams. The lack of position changes in general is unfortunate and I will be happy to see it added to CC. When/if that happens, they also need to address the issues of roster minimums and hybrid/secondary positions for the AI too..

Re: Changing a players position.

Ok, so we are saying these limitations in editing are to make sure we keep everything on a level playing field between the User and the AI? Here's my problem with that 1st I am a grown a**, 41 year old man, I pay my hard earned money for the game ... if I want to make the game absurdly lopsided in my favor then I have PAID for that right! Now, before the posts calling me a cheeser, or the like, start ... I do not do so ... I attempt to make the game as even and challenging as I can. I do not however need to be limited in being able to edit my players(especially their appearance or jersey number ... what in the world is that hurting?) during the mode that has replaced the only mode I play ... in order to make things even between me and the AI. If I want a challenging, fair game then I as a grown individual, with a working mind, know that I must not do things that tip the scale in my favor and if I do then it's on me that things aren't challenging. I DO NOT need EA, or anyone else, limiting what I can do, taking away a feature(editing players) that is very important to me and playing it off like it's for my own good! Ya know, I would even be satisfied if they had just left us the ability to edit appearance(equipment) and jersey number ... I cannot see what that hurts at all. I very rarely ever edited other than that in past versions ... except for the previously mentioned position changes from time to time. Oh well ... it's only a game ... and in the big scheme of things not the end of the world, but it is one of my favorite hobbies and i just really think this decision is going to really affect my enjoyment with the game. May not bother others but to me little things like appearance, and freedom to change things they way I wanted them added to my enjoyment.

And what makes your point even stronger is that last year in Madden 12 we could edit players in franchise. Why take away a feature that last year they praised as being something the hardcore gamers wanted?

Seriously, if you look up previews from last year EA boasted rather proudly that editing players was included in M12. Why take that away?

So they can sell Madden 14.

Quite frankly the depth chart/positions have been an issue with Madden since franchise mode was created and that should have been one of the main fixes for CCM.

Yes, teams will develop based on there schemes or whatever, which is cool and is better for the AI, but I had HC09 and the lack of flexibility for the AI when it came to depth chart was a big problem for me back in 08..

The depth chart formula have been the same since the Sega Genesis days, cleary outdated..

Its the little things that make the big picture great.

you do know changing the depth chart just makes their ratings go down? and it won't solve many problems he is still a HB not a FB and what happens then is when they do the pro bowl voting a FB that is suppose to be a HB or TE will make the pro bowl based on stats.

Re: Changing a players position.

also another point I wanna bring up

why the hell could we never move a LB to LS????? like the giants do? EA can do it why can't we??? we can only move OL and TEs at LS compllete BS

and what are people gonna do with Brad Smith? you can't move a WR to QB on the depth chart if you wanna use him that way

This is what will frustrate me the most.

Brad Smith
Dexter McCluster
Tim Tebow

Guys like this need to be able to be moved around.

Re: Changing a players position.

To respond to the game changer since teams will look to get players that fit their scheme, what would Dallas do trade Demarcus Ware or move his position thats the worry, also to those who say wait til roster updates if I start a online CC week 1 of Madden's release how will later updates help me in my already started online CC I doubt an entire league wants to restart because Mike Tolbert was moved from 3rd string HB on Carolina to starting FB and it does matter considering the xp system this year. Really wish they would have held CC off until they figure some of this out

Re: Changing a players position.

I just cancelled my pre-order after finding this out today. After the horrible product they put out in NCAA football 13 I think i'm done with buying their games. They are quite literally laughing at their fanbase. I can see paying full price for a game that had significant development but EA refuses to take a year off and really develop their product. They insist on milking sports fans for all they are worth while putting out similar products every year and trying to spin the "changes" as developments. As noted in this thread above, they will almost certainly market the ability to edit players in Madden 14 as a major add.
