Impact Rookies 2012

This thread is just a prediction thread of which rookies you think will have the biggest impact on your team in Madden NFL 2013 vs real life and why.

Madden 2013 - Touchdown Tommy Streeter. He's an offensive player. He's 6'4/6'5 can jump and has 4.4 speed. In Madden this your defense's your worse nightmare. 94/95 speed WR who can jump. Combine him with Torrey Smith and the new passing mechanic and your defense has an enormous problem.

Real Life - Kenechi Osemele/Gino Gradkowski. One if not both of these guys will solidify the OL and help to keep Flacco off his back. Second will be Courtney Upshaw. Should replace JJ and help set the edge in the run game and is an upgrade pass rusher. Will get several opportunities with Suggs sidelined.

Madden vs Real Life Analysis: WR is an impact position in both Madden and Real life. OL is only an impact position in real life. Unless you can get him a free run and he has speed OLB is only an impact position in real life. If Streeter makes an impact in real life I would be highly shocked and would welcome it. If Osemele, Gradkowski and Upshaw are impact players in Madden 13, I will be shocked and welcome that.

Alshon Jeffries will be a dominant force for Da Bears in both real life and in the game.

With the Eagles I think Mychal Kendricks real have a big impact in real life if he starts at one of the OLB spots. In madden I geuss it would be Fletcher Cox since DTs get alot of sacks in madden, but hopefully thats fixed.

Re: Impact Rookies 2012

Detroit Lions

Madden 13: (CB) Chris Greenwood. Dude is a physical freak, who is arguably the most athletically gifted Cornerback in the 2012 NFL draft class. Greenwood's measurables are incredible; He is 6'1" tall, runs a sub-4.40 40-yard dash and has an incredible 43" vertical jump. Even though Greenwood is as raw as uncooked salmon when it comes to the most important areas of his position (man coverage, zone coverage, etc...), in Madden 13, Greenwood's impressive athletic numbers will more than help compensate for his lower ratings in the more important positional categories. It is also important to mention that if Chris Greenwood ends up with a fairly high "press" rating in Madden 13, then that pushes his impact factor much much higher.

Real Life NFL: (RT/OG) Riley Reiff. This prediction is based more off of the process of elimination than anything else. Reiff is the only Lions draft pick in 2012 that is thought to be able to start right away. There are credible rumblings that our 2nd round pick (WR) Ryan Broyles will start the season on the PUP list to continue rehabbing his repaired ACL. Our 3rd round pick (CB) Dwight Bentley is expected to possibly contribute at Nickel or Dimeback, but not much else. The rest of the Lions 2012 draft picks: (DE) Ronnell Lewis (4th round), (OLB) Tahir Whitehead (5th round), (CB) Chris Greenwood (5th round), (CB) Jonte Green (6th round) and (MLB) Travis Lewis (7th round) are either going to be fighting for roster spots, playing Special Teams, or are considered long-term developmental prospects (except for maybe Ronnell Lewis).

As far as Riley Reiff's impact, he should be able to slide in to our Right Tackle spot on day one and unseat the infamous Gosder "I Start Playing Hard AFTER The Whistle" Cherilus. Either that, or Reiff has the versatility to move inside to one of our Guard spots (probably Right Guard) and help out there as well. While Riley Reiff isn't a physical freak from a numbers perspective, he is a fairly good run and pass blocker (in the Bryan Bulaga mold), who comes from an Iowa program that is known for having well-schooled and technically sound Offensive Linemen. In short, Riley Reiff should have the most impact of any Lions rookie this season, no matter where the Lions decide to play him.

Madden: Lamar Miller, should make Bush expendable.

Real life, Jonathan Martin. Will probably start at RT and will eventually transition to LT and replace Jake Long.

Re: Impact Rookies 2012

I don't think jake long will get replaced... unless he isn't as good as everyone says.

The Madden Seahawks:
Bruce Irvin, with his nice speed will be a great addition to the young defense. Also Russell Wilson should be nice in madden as well. I am fairly confident that he would have been a 1st round pick had he been just a few inches taller.

Real Life Seahawks:
Bruce Irvin and Bobby Wagner should both be starting week 1. I really like what Wagner brings to the defense, he has a very high football IQ. I also want to see Robert Turbin in action. His nick name, brace yourself for this... the Sea-Hulk

The rumors are that it's going to cost way too much to re-sign Long. We'll see.

In that case I can see why Martin would 'replace' Long. I thought you were saying he would take over the LT duties while Long was still on the roster.

And not to sound mean, but I feel like the Phins should be way under the cap... I could be wrong though. Anyways, didnt mean to derail the thread

They're not. They're 6-8 mil under now, and just gave Cameron wake an extension and a raise. Soon Sean smith and vontae Davis will need the same.

Michael Floyd going to be a beast in Madden.

In RL he won't be because WE HAVE NO QB! hahaha. I hope Kolb steps up or Skelton gets more accurate.
