I am honestly not trying to attack community members that go to TIburon, I respect all of you, even though a disagree with some of your espoused POVs. I am questioning the system that seems to not be achieving part of my perceived purpose, which is to have community influence on what actual goes in the game, not just how whatever was in EA's "plan" is implemented.

Anyway, this is a message board so I am sure many people don't understand what I am saying and are thinking "dude, it's just a video game", cool. So hopefully while I am opening up a can on Sgibs sometime this week, we can talk on Xbox Live and I can clarify my point with some much needed expletives! lol

^^^^ This! I was actually about to type a post that nearly mimics this entire thing. This is exactly why we were all trying to tell you to keep your expectations in check, Big - LOL. We've seen this before. EVery year we are told, "No, this time it's different!". I remember when Ian came on board as the creative director - everyone was going on and on about how "it's a new team, with new leadership". Nonsense. It's the same crap and a different creative director. It's the same community day where the guys go and see things get addressed only to see them not show up in the retail release. Not a single tuner was released for Madden 12 after claiming that tuners was a big new feature for Madden. Come on man, do they think we're stupid? When I saw some of the reactions from guys who came back from community day, I knew this would not be the Madden many of you hope it is. I saw nothing different about it from previous years. Most (and I emphasize most) of the guys who go to community day LOVE Madden. Also, it's really tough for the minority who don't because they are being wined and dined and it's a privilege for them to be there. It's hard to go down there and tell them their game stinks. 8 years and counting and we are still trying to get running animations to be somewhat realistic. They can add all of the pass trajectories they want, but every year they seem to have to redo everything because it's always wrong. Still no penalties, still no challenge system, still no online franchise...

But hey! We have 3d grass, accurate player uniforms and facemasks and sweet looking instant replays.

It's actually gotten comical at this point...

The problem with madden is that it can be a good game, if you play with two people who wanna play a sim game i can enjoy madden, i enjoy playing a good game of madden with someone who is playing football, first and madden secondly. no zig zagging, no excessive user control, I know im getting old and you young whipppersnappers that user everything, just make me sick!!! j/k but that is a issue with the game stick skills can trump everything. but this game can be enjoyable, but you have to put so many restrictions on it to make it that way.

I want to believe this bold part so bad but I just can't. I have already lost going on 8 years of consistent NFL football video game enjoyment after a strong 15 year run dating back to Tecmo Bowl in 1989. So that means after this year Madden will have been my sole NFL option for over half the time as my entire NFL gaming experience and has given me more disappoints, in about half the time. However, none of that seems to have "hurt them bad" so I don't think it ever will.

All I can do is lobby EA/Tiburon and community members that go there, so I can hopefully get a Madden I can somehow enjoy and STFU. lol

Either way, I realize at some point I have to accept the truth, no matter what I want to believe or EA/Tiburon keeps promoting. That point for me will be Madden 13 and that's why I am pushing so hard for it to be something I can somehow enjoy a realistic challenge in.

Not knocking you or anyone for doing it, because we all know why you do it, because it lets you do some unrealistic BS lets not even start on the goaline fade lol, but the issue is that if you are someone that is not stick skill heavy playing against that is no fun and that is what people want.I could really care less about you and the freestyle community playing the way you do. Its that we need a area where we can play sim football going into the lobbies is a crapshoot, and lets not even talk about ultimate team lmao!! The big issue is madden does nothing to make the game closer to sim just seems like it takes a turn towards non-sim every year. I mean how many nano blitzes did you see in the other game???? Thats why simheads love that game so much because you had to use strategy in that game, in madden it comes down to how much you wanna game the a.i. and how good your stick skills are.

funny you bring that up - got a video on 2k5 thats unlisted - played the game for 30 minutes a few months back.

A gaps, turbo blitzing, 2 man blitzes, psychic offensive lines, man switches you name it i was able to do it all in a short period of time playing the other game.

that game was completely broken - problem was - not enough people played it for people to find the issues - or people just forget about them.

i will say never played 2k8 so i have no idea about that - prob the same issues though

Actually, did not sell many less copies than Madden did. That game was not perfect as no game is, it's software. It was far better, not completely broken. Madden is nearly unplayable, and people who are Madden lovers can't stand the other game because it doesn't allow you to do as much of the nonsense you can in Madden. Madden players get frustrated with it, so it makes them feel better to knock it, since it gives them the false affirmation that Madden is actually good.

There have been some incredibly good iterations of Madden. There have been NONE on this generation of hardware.

Nah, 2K8 was better. Can't say by how much because it has been forever since I played 2K5. Either way, 2K5 still did way more things RIGHT than Madden does even now. That says a lot to me.
