What is the BEST route in Madden?

Hands down the drag route is the best route in Madden and in football.

It gets open against any defense just with different timing. It is safe but can be sprung for huge gains with receivers that can get it done in the YAC department.

A slant or a drag.

When you read man and see the db playing off, a little 5 yard comeback works wonders.

I wouldn't say a drag by itself is the best route in Madden or football in general but when you combine it with the most basic of air raid philosophies its starts to approach that title. Throw a little shallow cross and drive action in with the drag and you cause nightmares.

See this is an area where I don't like to pick one. One route is useless to me. You line up one guy and block everyone else and only run that one guy nothing is going to be very effective save a Madden 09 curl.

If I had to choose it would probably be the spot route. It gives a quick dump off, can beat a man defender if you lead pass away, and it sits in the hole in the zone in many cases.

but thats the point - its not about getting into the nit and gritty its just about making a decision.
