I seem to recall an IGN exclusive interview/event in which Ian Cummings sat down with IGN and played a matchup with the Cards and Steelers. I remember it b/c I know I was looking out to see if the QB was walking (as opposed to running/jogging) to the LOS. That couldn't have been any later than early-to-mid May. The only thing left to show at E3 that year was the "improved" franchise mode with Extra Point Show.

Now certainly, I'm not attempting to nitpick here . Again, I have no problem with how M13 is being marketed -- I like it. But without question, IMO M10 was the most transparent game.

EDIT:

The below video is dated 4/29/09. I can't watch while at work, but I'm certain there was real gameplay shown in this vid.

You are correct sir. After watching that video I can say that was the biggest jump in terms of gameplay from one year to another. Madden 09 was hot garbage lol. I don't understand how Madden 11-12 seemed to drop off in terms on updating various features such as pro-tak and the half time show. Hopefully the jump from Madden 12--->13 is huge.

Madden 10 is the reason I'm here, bottom line. I literally put Madden 09 through a shredder.

Maybe they just did not have enough development time and they needed a few years to make a quality wrap up show and and updates on other features. Games that are yearly releases do not give developers much time at all to work on them. Maybe it took until now to finalize a lot of things they may of started in Madden 10 and maybe 13 is going to be super awesome. We will know soon.

It definitely seems like they are holding back something big and it has got to do with tackling. Just going by memory here but im pretty sure none of the gameplay footage they have shown have given us really good looks at the tackling, just a couple really quick glimpses of Qb's getting sacked but they usually cut to something else right away. They've got something up there sleeves for sure. can't wait till june 4th!!

11 more days!!! Yes, the announcement will have something to do with tackling and/or AI, IMO. Hopefully some implementation of physics or DPP 2.0 would all be nice. Speaking on something that was mentioned earlier, this dev team is willing to change things for us on the fly. Let's stop blaming them for problems of Madden's past. But instead, let's work with them to fix those problems.

I just hope/wish that whatever they show us will be in NCAA as well. I'm prepared to live with the fact that its not, but it would make for a much happier me.

Regardless, M10 was the last Madden I played (and really enjoyed). I'm hoping to burn through 10+ years of Franchise mode if M13 is up to snuff.

I'm not sure how much stock to put in this but if you watch the 1:32 mark of the first gameplay vid with Simms/Nantz commentary, it looks like when Cassel gets sacked, the top half of the running backs body contorts a little when he runs into Cassel. Possibly some untweaked physics reaction there.

Before anyone jumps down my throat, i'm saying it's possible, not definite.

You're not the first to notice it, someone said it reminded them of Back Breaker, which I never played, but I guess that was something that happened in it.

Why not? You should download the demo just to see the tackling physics. Pretty cool.
