It's not exactly predetermined. I wish it was, it would have allowed me to make sure it was properly tuned. It's based on "pseudo" random numbers... meaning it grabs different factors that are not random and combines them to make them varied. In other words, I can't "assign" weather for a specific game, I have a specific grouping of numbers that plug into a mathmatical equation, but the numbers polled to complete that calculations are not random, but determined by repeatable circumstances. Thus, the same game will produce the same weather each time.

We didn't redo the logic this year, only the numbers behind the scenes.

Unfortunately, this cropped up very late and it was the very first thing I worked on way back in January when I got here. Miami is actually set to zero precipitation in September because I was trying everything to get it to stop, but it didn't. I believe it's a bug related to dynamic time-of-day, but I'm not sure.

At any rate, I'm rewriting the system that determines the weather because the old system made zero sense, I just tried to do the best I could with it.

Thanks for the explanation but does this mean that it will be fixed in a patch or are we stuck with the way it is now? I do remember last year that the weather was tuned a bit in a patch so I hope it can be done again.

All depends on what other issues pop up.

How feasible is it to give the user the option to set the weather pre-game. Even if it's within certain parameters for that region. FPS Football had that at some point I believe.

It'd be great to give users another option at the least.

well I hope that nothing major pops up, anything would be better than having it raining or snowing 12 weeks out of the year.

Re: Season Ticket - Every Game Raining?

So let me het this clear...you can't manually adjust weather in Madden 12? Or is it just a franchise issue?

So like the user above me a couple of post, is this just been seen in Season Ticket or is this retail as well?

5 franchise games, 5 games in the rain. So frustrating. This NEEDS to be solved immediately. This is a huge issue and for it to only be considered for the first patch is a joke, it has to be.

Re: Season Ticket - Every Game Raining?

It sounds like a complex formula to determine weather, with lots of variables, and lots of ways it could go wrong.

All of that could be a non-issue if we simply had the option to change the weather ourselves.
