Re: OS Roundtable: What Does Franchise Mode Need?

1. ONLINE Franchise- at this point it should really all be the same. basically EVERYTHING that is in offline franchise MUST be in ONLINE franchise. If you still want to play solo and not utilize the online capability then don't. But there should be no difference in the features.

2. Automatic ONLINE Franchise websites- This should be a given. Detailed websites including ALL coaching history, past champions, and any other info. The deeper the better. We want EVERY possible stat/achievement to be recorded.

3. Spectate Mode- So all GMs/coaches can watch other games being played within the franchise.

Re: OS Roundtable: What Does Franchise Mode Need?

1. Larger Rosters
2. Ability to change teams during the a franchise (hire/Fire)
3. A cool feature to implement would be to enter the league as a position coach or an assistant and have access to only training players or managing and using the players at your respective position. For example starting a franchise as a CB coach and only be able to manage CB's through out the season and during games and depending on your success being able to get new jobs or move up the NFL coaching ladder and gaining permanent boosts to the positions you coach along the way.
4. The ability to edit player attributes for all players including draft classes.
5. A more in depth off season and preseason.
6. Fixing player contracts.

the saddest thing about this is that most of what people say is what was in the on the PS2/Xbox and we may just finally be catching up with a system that is about 5 years old

I think potential should stay in there, but just hidden so that the user never sees it....

First off madden needs developers that genuinely care for the game. 2nd personally I love the draft and this is an area where they dont take advantage of whats already in front off them. The draft needs to be a experience with great presentation, the ability to trade current and future picks. You could have the pick flash across the bottom off the screen, anything to do justice to the real thing. 3rd make the scouting process deeper and let the potential for a player be decided after 2 or 3 seasons based on performance. Also give us the ability to scout two seasons in advance. 4th player roles, being able to set the roles for aging veterans or the gem RB you found in the 5th round. Also make it to where you trying to fit guys into your scheme, all I hear is this guy is a 3-4 DT or he's a 4-3 Lb, all players are not universal. Then you could give awr boosts to players that fit. I also think they needs to implement learning of playbooks especially now with the create a PB, so if your have a huge PB it would take longer to learn. Thats where a IQ rating could come in, you give your team assignments and the higher the football iq the faster the player learns. 5th and final were needs full coaching staffs, and goimg back to what head coach did in the first game where they gave imput on who was doing well. Also one last thing give us the ability to upload are franchises to new games the knock on madden for me is you can never get into it before the new game comes out. NFL football is a grind and I wish we can experience some of what you dont see on sundays.

man oh man, franchise needs a lot. most of the things mentioned already are cool, some ideas are flawed. this years franchise can't be changed and i can't comment on what next year's need until i play this one...hmmm...make franchise mode more fun while making it a challenge, i think that's why GM's, coaches and players do it all over again each year. as it stands, the commentary lacks context, free agency isn't like i know it to be, the draft is basically one or two players and my players only get better one time a year. it's mundane.

In real life there is no off-season in NFL football. We read about about it year round....

Free Agency, Hold Outs, Suspensions, Motivation, Coaching Changes Mid-Season. Drama between players...etc etc etc.

Overhaul doesn't begin to cover it.
put everything that was in Madden 2005 in 2012 and add 75 man rosters..
