Strange twist of fate in year 3 of my franchise

So in year 3 of my offline franchise I am the Raiders. Matt Ryan of the Falcons has had 2 excellent years (2009: 28 tds 3500+ yds, 2010: 32 tds 4000+ yds) and the Falcons have made it to the divisional playoffs twice, one time making it to the NFC championship game.

Then in 2011 in week 4 of the preseason- BAM Matt Ryan gets a torn tricep and is out for the season. His only backup is some rookie who is rated 60 overall. Falcons have no hope right? They have no choice but to look at free acency. Guess who was not resigned in the offseason and was overlooked by all 32 teams, and is now sitting at the top of the QB FA list- Yes, Michael Vick. In game, he had two forgettable years not playing at all in 09, then starting two games in 2010 without much of an impact.

He's now a 67 as regression hit him after both season, but the next best FA QB is Shaun Hill who is at a 66. So the falcons pick up old washed up Vick who hasn't done anything relevent in 4 years, the last time he wore a Falcons jersey. I expected the Falcons to be terrible with him at QB, but after 4 games they are a modest 2-2, and Vick has around 900 yds passing, 150 yds rushing, 7 tds/4 ints. So he's not winning games for them, but he's not as bad as a 67 rating would indicated.

(another strange occurence- Brady also went down in preseason, but only for 6 weeks, so after 4 games his back up Derek "2/17" Anderson is 4-0 with 11 tds)

Ratings don't mean **** for the QB. Ingle Martin passes for 2,500+ yards, 20 TDs each year for me.

Cool story, thanks for sharing. I could only imagine the story line in the sporting world over that FA pickup.

Nice! Did you resign Morrison and Z. Miller? Who have you had to let go?

Not true at all. Accuracy is everything in this game. With my 95 overall QB, he's on the money every time. With Sage Rosenfels, who is a 68 or whatever but has very good accuracy, I can play very well with him too. But my current backup in franchise mode is a 53 overall and he is just pitiful.

I'm in year 2 of my Carolina franchise and Matt Ryan is sidelined w/a collarbone fracture or something so his backup is playing...Michael Vick.

I found that quite ironic as well, however the AI orchestrated this.
