Best Trade I have Completed

So I just started up a Vikings franchise today. I am from Green Bay, and am a huge Brett Favre fan. I also love the Packers, and am very happy to get to see Favre play another year. I hope Favre does well but the Vikings lose as I think the Packers are one defensive lineman away from a Super Bowl. Anyway, I think the Vikings have a minor rebuilding project on there hands but also some franchise players already in place so i decided to start up a chise with them.(It helps that Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin were two of my favorite college players of all time)

I played my first two games, and am 2-0. Pretty confident in saying that the Browns and Lions will get any team ready to play real competition. After the lions game and having Antoine Winfield get burned by Calvin Johnson on two occasions, I decided it was time to trade him. He is an aging cornerback in the last year of his deal who wants to get paid. After about 45 minutes of searching around the league for a trade.(I really wanted Cromartie) but the Chargers wouldn't part with him, I "settled" on a trade with the Dolphins. I traded Winfield straight up for Vontae Davis(21 year old with 'A' potential), Pat White(probably will be the successor to Favre as he is tons of fun to play with in this game, and their 1st round pick. I originally expected to get a 3rd rounded or possibly a 2nd and was shocked when they gave me a 1st rounder. They are currently 0-2 so this pick has the potential to be a good one.

What great trades have you guys pulled off?(without cheating of course)

In my Eagles franchise I traded Kevin Kolb and a second round pick to the Panthers for Jonathan Stewart.

Re: Best Trade I have Completed

yeah that is the only trade i made. i make about one a year, and it usually isnt giving up my best corner for two players and a pick. i usually trade for guys like gartrell johnson, vernon gholston, devin thomas, isaiah stanback, tavares gooden, vernon davis, or some other guys that i just like for some reason. very seldom is it a blockbuster. usually backup for backup or backup for picks.

You must have had quite a cap hit with that one. I tried to bail the Jets out of cap hell last year, not worth it. It took a solid 4 years. They have some of the worst contracts in the league on that team.

Re: Best Trade I have Completed

I didn't keep this trade, just tried it for a game to see if I could run any better with Adrian Peterson than I could with Joseph Addai.

I traded Joseph Addai, Raheem Brock, and a 1st round pick to Minnesota for Adrian Peterson. I didn't run much better so I didn't save, was really for experimental purposes only.

Re: Best Trade I have Completed

I don't make many trades but, if I do I usually try to keep the as real to life as possible.

As a House Rule, I only trade for players on the Block or if another team submits an offer for a player I put on the block.

I wouldn't say this was a great trade or anything like that. But, it's been the only trade I've made so far in my Packers chise. In year two(week 3) I traded Deshawn Wynn to the Chargers for their 6th round pick. Deshawn was in the final year of his contract and had regressed in year one. L.T. was out for 5 weeks for The Chargers so I figured the could use some backfield help.

Re: Best Trade I have Completed

i guess all trades are possible after seeing the raiders trade a top ten pick for a soon-to-be 30 year old richard seymour.

I did a fantasy draft in my franchise and wound up with too much depth at some spots and being very weak at others so I decided to make some trades figuring they'd help my team, they sure did and they all said No penalties on the trades.

Well offseason rolls around and my cap goes from being close to 20 mil under to 40 mil over, so I'm trying to figure out whats going on.

So I'm trading off all my superstars for younger guys, taking about a 10 point ratings hit on everyone, adding day 2 draft picks trying to restock my team and escape cap hell.

Year two offseason rolls around this time I'm 65 mil over the cap! I'm thinking what the hells going on here, every move I'm making is saying no cap penalties, finally hits me the trade system is broken and if the player you're trading has any bonus left on his contract whatever is left of it hits your cap the next offseason.

So I take my team, trade off about every player remaining who makes any kind of substantial money but has no bonus and it looks like going into year 3 I'm finally going to be out of cap hell, its actually been pretty fun though going from a team that was fantasy drafted and fairly loaded in year one, to a less loaded younger team in year two, to now a team featuring a lot of my draft picks needing to play for me in year 3.

As far as best trade I've made in my franchise I really like this one, I came up on the clock in the first round of the draft didn't like anything on the board at the time so I decided to look to move back, I sent my 1st round pick to Miami for their 2nd, 4th, and 5th round picks.

I drafted a WR Jamario Baston from Tennessee, 74 overall, started the year at #4 on my depth chart but has risen to #3 quickly as he just seems to get wide open with ease and doesn't drop balls, this was a big pick because my #2 and #3 WRs are coming off the books this offseason and depending upon how far out of cap hell I am I likely won't be bringing both back, may just let both walk (Donnie Avery and Derrick Williams). With the 4th and 5th round picks I added some solid depth, got a 64 overall DT who has pretty good size for the 3-4, can play either DT or DE for me if needed. 5th round I got a RB who started the year at #3 on my depth chart, but my starter got hurt week one so hes actually seeing some action now and doing a fairly good job.
