Diving and roughing the passer.... garbage

ROughing the passer calls are garbage in this game. THis crap needs to be fixed. IF you dive button before he throws it should NEVER be called. And then have the time the player dives on his knees like a middle school girl playing flag football... Who thought this was a cool animation/idea??

Re: Diving and roughing the passer.... garbage

I have only gotten one roughing call in quite a few games played so I don't know that it is really that big of a problem. That said, some of the dive animations are terrible. I really hate how the players seem to stop and wind up on some of the dives. The dive is supposed to help you make up those last couple feet and winding up like that completely eliminates that. Same with some of the hitstick hits.

Roughing the passer calls are garbage in real life, so in some ways this is very realistic.

Re: Diving and roughing the passer.... garbage

The roughing the passer is fine. The only time I've gotten it is when I've just really wanted to hit the QB and a go all out for a hit stick.

The diving in this game is a joke. I broke away with MoJo to the outside and a DB was literally behind me so close all I could see was MoJo's helmet, he dove and it didn't even trigger an animation. I felt sorry for him because the dives are just simply worthless.

Now an interesting thing to know would be if diving was calculated by the jumping attribute. Meaning DT's do the knee-dive animation often, but more athletic players go full out Larry Fitz style.

Well, technically, you're not allowed to dive at the QB's legs anymore. It's a penalty (although I don't think it's roughing the passer...it's something else). It happened last night in the Pats/Redskins game but I was at a bar so I didn't get a chance to hear the refs explanation. But it was definitely a penalty and his hand signals weren't for a personal foul.

yeah i wonder how it's calculated as well? is acceleration and agility factored in as well? it would make sense.

yeah the roughing calls are very iffy. Most of the time it usually happens when you are diving before he releases it. I may just turn the slider down to 0 if more happen like that since the cpu NEVER gets called for this when I'm QBing.

I also got a late hit penalty today when I hit the receiver right before he went out of bounds. That was great.
