Pro-Tak= no user control??

I am beginning to notice I have no control over a pro-tak moment on defense. I will see a ball carrier begin to get wrapped up by 2 of my players and run to them to join it and all that happens is my player goes falling to the side or dives by them all. I didn't push dive or anything! I have tried hit sticking the pile up like Ian said we could and it does nothing... It is as if I have just brushed the pile.

Do we have absolutely no control over who joins the pro-tak gang tackle?? If so that is absurd... if I am playing a linebacker and I want to help my 2 other team mates stop a running back I should be allowed to join the pro-tak moment! I don't see players on sunday go "hey you guys ok over there? I know it would be easier to tackle this ballcarrier with another body pushin against hime but I'm gonna run around this pile up cuz you look like you got him taken care of... but if he breaks out of you I will try and do something. Good luck"

Ian specifically said at a E3 thing that you could hit stick a pro-tak animation and along with what you've said he TOTALLY lied or either the animation happens so rarely that neither of us have noticed.

I get what your saying, you just want to help push the runningback back for a loss. I think the only control we have is to knock it over, which I haven't been able to do yet

Cool Re: Pro-Tak= no user control??

I get the same thing......I cant join a pro-tak animation from either side of the ball. i cant lay a hit as a defensive player and i cant push the pile as an offensive player.

Honestly, what pro-tak means to me is that sometimes a player can break about 6 tackles. Beyond that, it detracts more than it adds to the game. I can never switch to a player already involved, and i cant come in and strip it either. if there a useful function to be used once the pro-tak system kicks in I haven't seen it. I feel like I'm just a bystander on any tackle that I dont initiate myself. At least year I could be the 2nd guy in an make a hit.

How bad is something when you have to refer to '09 positives?

Well Pro-Tak looks good (sometimes), but it really is just another one of EA's gimmick features that sells games every year.

I have been able to control a pile pretty well with Gore. Hell I scored a TD pushing the pile.

On offense Pro-Tak is fine, but he was talking about on D.

Have you tried pressing X when you approach the ballcarrier? That's the button for assisting on tackles.
