Madden NFL 2002 - PlayStation 1 (I know, it's old!) Oddity

Yes I know this game and console are old but I'm picky when it comes down to uniform and stadium detail. I just wanted to know what you guys thought of this topic.

Ever since I got Madden NFL 2002 for the 1st PlayStation I've always wondered why Heinz Field wasn't included in the game. Madden NFL 2002 was the first year Heinz Field would appear so why wasn't it included? When selecting a stadium in the stadium options a picture of Heinz Field is shown, but isn't featured in the game other than that picture. The only reason I could think why Heinz Field isn't playable is because the Xbox came out that year and PlayStation 2 was incredibly popular, causing those platforms to have "priority" over the outdated PlayStation 1.

I guess EA had their dev. team working on the Xbox version and just "recycled" the PlayStation 1 version like they did basically every year up until 2004 (Madden NFL 2005), it's final year on the PlayStation 1.
