I don't think so. Ratings will always be a source of debate but at least with overhaul there's a wider range which should actually be more realistic.

I think some overreact because of previous ratings. We haven't played the game yet, so this thread is too early. Ask us again after we've had a couple weeks of playing different teams.

I for one am very happy to see the rating get spread out like they are. There was way too many players in the 90's and you really couldn't tell the dif between average and good players. I think the reason EA made this change was so we would see a drop off from medium talent and the star players. This year depth should be a huge factor where it really has not been one in the past.

How about Steve Slaton at 92Spd. Seriously?

How about Dwight Freeney being as fast as Reggie Wayne.

I can go on and on.

E.A must come up with a new way of making players good without just jacking their speed.

I hope that maybe E.A can take a look through the rosters again at some point. Maybe the first update and get some of these things straightened out.

Some of these ratings are just outrageous
I don't even see what's so wrong. Rivers has a weak arm for NFL starters - doesn't make him a bad QB. Slaton is fast and Freeney might be as fast as Wayne who was never known as a burner. That stuff all looks good to me. Not to be rude but I think you need to do your homework more before you criticize the EA roster guy.

My only concern is that rookies seem to be immune to the ratings stretch.

I will agree with you on that one.....every time I have looked at what I thought was a skeptical rating, it was a Rookie !

I really like how people seem to think just because of the position they play receivers should be fast and dlinemen should be slow even if the evidence points in a completely different direction.

I hear ya on that bro but I think E.A's "happy medium" is a bit extreme. Hopefully I'm wrong.. Chris Johnson is 99spd.. why?.. Yea I know he's fast but you mean to tell me he would dust Slaton?.. 92 to 99 is 7 attribute points higher.

I just think E.A could spend more time accurately adjusting the ratings to find "happy mediums"

For example keeping on with the theme of Phillip Rivers... 99 is too extreme for Rivers 81 is too much. 86 would suffice.
