So anyway. I was like. First thing Hate the controls. And next. I just didnt get it. What was all the hype about. I let my friend play it. And he was like 'I dont get it' , 'Let me put Madden back in '

It may be a critically acclaimed game, and great for its time, but I doubt you can swing anyone, except the hardcore, to play 2k5 over Madden as of now.
...Madden has been out since '89-'90 and the CORE of the game really hasn't changed that much. The game is a legacy and over time, people have gotten used to its controls and nuances. The 2K series was relatively new on the block and was just a different game...TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Those who stuck with it, studied it and learned it saw what made it different. People fear change and many don't have patience...those who couldn't and still won't ACCEPT the change of 2K football will always be those that may put the 2K disc in for maybe 30 minutes tops and then will soon be replacing it with the Fat Man's legacy. Each has its pro and cons but I just wish that WE still had a CHOICE...

We don't. I wish people would accept that and move on.

or consider the wisdom of "Pick battles small enough to win, but large enough to matter." This is neither.

We've got, what, 38 days until '10 drops? You know the clock's ticking on this game. What's in is in, and there isn't gonna be any major overhauls at this point. A percentage chance to break tackle here, a percentage chance to throw a bad pass there. It's all gonna be code work at this point. It's time to put down the camera, and let Madden 10 be Madden 10.

My thoughts? For now, let it slide until after release. Once the game drops, and you can take videos from Madden 10 yourself, then we get back to this. Even then, think small, think patchable. Once we see a patch, then start pushing for '11.

All I'm saying is that at this point, it's too early to start working on making your points made for '11. Lets see Madden '10, lets see it in action, lets feel it. We know Madden's pointed in the right direction; for some of us, maybe, it will not have traveled far enough in that direction yet, but I think we need to get out hands on the controller before we start tearing into it.

This is not criticism, it's an honest assessment of where we are. You've been too damn useful to this communities efforts to this point; don't dilute yourself. Don't over expose yourself. Keep your message fresh, and more importantly, timely.
Great post man. Big difference between criticism and constructive criticism. It is a difference that, unfortunately, most 'negative' posters on here do not quite get. Apex gets it, but to your point, is diluting himself, and because of that, inching closer in closer to 'bashing' rather than his intended constructive criticism.

We need guys like Apex to help drive Madden forward. Hell, look at how many changes our feedback lead to this year. But we can't get power hungry, and we have to stay realisitic with our feedback and expectations of the Madden team to put our feedback into the game.

Ian and his team have been working furiously this year, and the effort shows. For anyone to say "same ole madden" or "roster update" is kidding themselves and really does not belong on this forum. They are ignoring facts in order to continue marching along to their anti-madden agenda.

Hats off to Ian, the Madden team, and everyone who has provided constructive feedback over the past year or so in order to get Madden back on top of the sports gaming world.

And it isn't EA's fault, but for some reason, they get blamed for the exclusive license. Same thing is going on right now with NFL Sunday Ticket and the NFL Network. The NFL is a business and they are out to make money -- and they saw an opportunity to make more money by giving EA the exclusive license. It's not like EA took the exclusive license against the NFL's will.

And how have ANY of the last 10 or so posts in this thread related to the original topic? Oh, that's right. They haven't!
