Yeah, I see the difference, but I still don't understand why someone wouldn't be satisfied with a game didn't fix something from the past.

Let's take an example you mentioned earlier.

2k9 had a big issue with too many points in the paint by the cpu. If 2k fixes this for the next game, you wouldn't be satisfied by that?

Wait, you have 10 in your hands now? Please PM and let me know what store gave it to you. I'm dying to find out if 10 is marginally better than 09.
I said it shows signs of being marginally better. After madden 06-09, I need proof this stuff is fixed. In the words of George W. Bush, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, uh ur um- well your not gonna fool me again."

Apex shows people what they don't want to see -- holes in the story we've been told. Turn on a dime animations and players with low break tackle ratings breaking through multiple lb tackles look alive and well. Let's add jostling and procedural awareness to the list of questionables since no can really say they've seen them in vids yet either. That's four major gameplay issues supposedly fixed that don't appear to be.

As for showing signs of marginality, I'd like to have the game in my hands for a few weeks vs watching videos on the net before I make any statements or judgments on marginality.

I don't remember Ian or anyone from EA saying they promised to fix all the animations for Madden 10. I do remember Ian saying they would work on it. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

I thought I read somewhere in the past few weeks that Ian mentioned that animations and physics would be worked more in 11. Again, If I'm wrong, I'll admit it.

As far as the above animations, you'll need to dig deeper around the SB time blogs to see Procedural Awareness working. I do remember it was in one of those videos.

I'm just being realistic folks. I know Apex is showing good stuff with animations, but I really don't feel anything major can be accomplished between now and going gold for 10.

Re: More Physics Issues Madden 10 vid vs NFL 2K5

I have been very critical of Apex in the past but I really appreciate this video. Apex showed the footage, got straight to the point, and did very little talking. I even dig the little text pop-ups over the constant talking in his past videos, if he continues to post videos in this manner then I think a whole lot less people here would have an issue with him.

Also, I think it's kind of low to dog the guy out for how he says the word truth. Incessant rambling, getting off topic, and non-cohesive thought patterns deserve to be talked about, but how do we know the guy doesn't have a speech impediment or something? (not saying he does, I'm just saying), Or maybe it's because of where he is from, either way, making fun of him for that seems kinda grade schoolish.

It's actually more like he's shown us holes that Ian already has acknowledged multiple times are there. Some of you guys make it sound like there's a great EA conspiracy and the only voice of truth and reason is Apex.

I respect his effort to bring to light Madden's issues. It's not the issues he addresses, it's the repetitiveness with which he addresses them and the cult following it garners without realization that it's not uncharted territory. Ironically his "supporters" call everyone else sheep for blindly purchasing Madden each year, saying the "truth" gets ignored. Yet each video, regardless of actual usefulness or "newness", is treated by these same people as some revelation of a new conspiracy revealed in the web of EA lies...lol.

None of that is meant as a knock on Apex. As I said, I appreciate what he's trying to do, and some of his videos highlight some very good points. I think though, that the panic they induce among some folks is a bit much. I will say that this particular video was much more to the point than previous ones...so maybe he's heeded some honest criticism on that front, I dunno.

We don't know any facts about the nature of the videos: who's controlling whom, what level it's been played on, etc. Plus, Madden's replays are notoriously not on-par with the actual game on the field (an issue recently brought up, in fact), so it's tough to say for sure. I, for one, never base my opinions off of replays, videos, and other people's experiences.

The same can be said on the flip-side too, of course (those who jump in with both feet claiming the game will be great without playing it). Personally, I'll still be renting, and we'll see from there. At this point we all know what to watch for and we've all been told what can't really be addressed for '10.

I do agree with what you said about needing proof before jumping in, based on the past years of Madden. My only point is that "proof" isn't going to come from someone else's YouTube video.

Re: More Physics Issues Madden 10 vid vs NFL 2K5

this thread is downright ridiculous.

Conspiracy theories, people pointing out whats been pointed out time and time before, and people arguing whether fixes are...well to be honest, I'm not quite sure what that argument is about.

I'm seriously going to ask this question...whats the point?

I just don't wanna hear Tiburon talking anymore, I'm tired of hearing them talk. Then the game comes out and the patch follows then the next year statement comes. Rinse and repeat for 15 plus years. This game should be F'ng flawless now in 2009 we should not even be talking about animations, momentum and physics when it comes to Madden, we should be taking that ish for granted by now and really be focusing on dumb ish like cleat color or types of face mask. At this stage in Madden thats the superfulous(sp) we should be talking about.

When is the last time Ian's been in here on a consistent basis? Tired of hearing them talk?

As I stated before, we can't change the past. Would of, could of, etc........

Flawless? Tell me one sports game that is flawless. 2k5, APF, The Show, 2k9, NHL are all not flawless. Good , yes, flawless, no.
