Cover 2?

imho they need to do away with this type of play calling and stuff, and just have the corner's/safeties make real reads in the game and let the AI do the thinking, instead of having the corners just play flats/safeties play deep, when technically, that's not how the defense works at all, it's all about what the offensive players do

quite frankly, if they changed it to how it's really supposed to be played, alot of football fans would be confused because they won't know what the hell's going on

Thats why I made that little edit to the play there. If they made it a real cover 2 you wouldn't be able to draw it. My way allows it to work similarly to the real D and be user friendly.

I just got done playing madden 08 (my 09 broke) and if you put the CBs in purple zones they play (IMO) How you want them to but the LCB doesnt press for whatever reason....lol

But I dont think we need any new zones (like the one u made) becuz it could start to get confusing and then some other people would want that exact zone in with the playmakers.... and then later more people would want custum zones of their own......I just see it getting messy for EA

LOL many people playn D wont know whatz goin on..........Now lets talk about the guyz on O.....

a few months ago I wanted EA to do something like this for OLBs in a cover 3 becuz it is way easier IMO to do (less real life reads and it can test the waters to how the comunity would feel about making a switch)

(I know most of the guys in this thread know how the OLBs are suposed to play but 4 the ones how dnt I will go into depth if need be)




But IMO making a switch like this will be really unfair to the offense.....
I meen if the CBs were just in a blue or just in a purple thats one thing...and im ok with that

but to make it so the cbs can cover like they are in purple zones and then change to blue zones (thats pretty much what is being debated if I am understanding) if someone is attacking the flats is too much power to give the defense....esp if you throw in adaptive AI

A way for EA to counter act this is to make it so WRs running crossing routes or digs can sit down in the zones


But really I dont want any of this in until they put it all in 100% no problems....thats prob goin to be in 2013...lol

or maybe we can have a defensive create a play/playbook, and it would solve it

i think it's alright how it is i guess, there are prob more avid gamers out there than hardcore guys like us os'rs ya know

yeah i see where ur problem is, but then that's where awareness/zone coverage rating will matter and everything comes into play better

say you run a smash route and the corner with less awareness will bite on the corner route similar to what happens in real life and the hitch will be open at the right time, you know, even if it's for a split second, that split second that the defender is wrong is how the offense gains yards/makes plays

and talking about wr's sitting down inbetween the zones is another vital thing, it's probably the main thing that's going on in the "mesh" routes, the receivers taking advantage of the agressiveness of the defender

Im all for one for the defense but not the offense....Do i need to go into why the O shoulnt have one....lol

The only prob with the one from LG is that the formations you made woult adjust to TEs and such......

agree with the created, and you can roll a strong side linebacker up in a 7 technique on the tight end


damn, i wish we had strong side/weak/ mike linebackers in the game, as in they switch sides depending on the strength on the field

same goes with strong safety/free safety


i wish we could have a feature where we can call the strength on the field you know, like put the strong safety on the strong side/where the tight end is and vice versa, same goes along with the lb's


like have pre play adjustments we can make for the strength in the secondary and the strength in the lb's/front seven seperately, that would be badass

Remember an old thread "How real is too real" or something along the lines of that..
We could prob label something like this as being too real
Ian said that (he used an flight simulaters as an example) If u make a game too real it wouldnt be fun anymore

I think we may be heading into that same road if we add in all the read and react things on defense and offense...It would be crazy you almost had to be a coach to play the game. Think about all the stuff you would need to learn. Man I play football (5 diff positions on D) and it is crazy how much I would have to learn just about defense...Going back to the tampa 2, I didnt know near as much as I thought I knew
