I don't get that. Then what's the point of stretching ratings if they are going to act like they did last year when they weren't stretched? So stretching the ratings means nothing?

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

Does anybody understand why Maclin is faster then Jackson on the eagles, my bad if this has been mention.

I'm not gong to complain because they gave us the options to edit players which I fully plan on doing but I would still like an answer to my question please?

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

I still don't get how some of these linebackers are being rated speed wise. I'm seeing discrepancies all over the place. Just looked at the Bengals and Rey M. has an 80 speed. Umm, what was his Pro Day 40 time? Going back to Tavarres Gooden again, I'll accept the 82 speed if they increase his acceleration to 95 like Suggs. I have no problem with Sizzles' 83 speed because his accel is at 95. They gotta do something to make sure that while these guys do not have high speed ratings, that they get to top speed faster, especially LB's and pass rushing DEs.

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

Ray Maualuga is too fast for a line backer who is projected to only be a 2 down player.. and cushing is a 62 in zone coverage when he didnt even play on 3rd downs at USC because he couldnt cover anyone that makes no sense. Aaron Curry only being a 45 in zone coverage and rated less than Cushing in presuit makes no sense either Curry was the best prospect in the draft by far some NFL GM's called him the best linebacker prospect ever

Dhani jones only being 73 in speed hes only about 240lbs so if he isnt a fast lb he wont be in the NFL let alone leading the Bengals in tackles Dhani needs to be rated way faster. Maualuga is better than Rivers thats outragious

Maybe the low speed ratings on D is why Chris Johnson was killing the Ravens in the gameplay video

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

Donny, what is the deal with Michael Johnson's 35 AWR rating...Please tell me his ceiling is much higher than that.

Also, is there a big ratings penalty for moving him to OLB in a 3-4?

[quote=N51_rob;2039798890]I don't think that it means that you won't be able to guard Moss, Smith, etc. I think (hope) that it means you have to use a little stratagy.

well that sounds great, which will force non ballers to learn how to play football and not manipulate the game but the field.but even in madden 09 when the ratings were higher top dbs still got beat consistantly with double coverage and dead a.i.

The only rating they spread the scale for was speed. The rest of the ratings from what I can tell have really been spread in terms of the scale being used. Speed on the other hand will actually, at least on all madden and with sliders set to the most realistic settings, will actually be spread over a smaller scale. The smaller scale covers more points allowing more differentiation but the high and low points are closer together. I don't remember the exact numbers but basically slower players like linemen in last years game would actually one the field take 6 or 7 seconds to cover 40 yards and even guys with 70s in speed would take over 5 seconds. Basically this meant that the realistic scale for speed should have in 09 been basically compressed from 70-99 and that would include the slowest olinemen and dts. Their ratings, however, exceeded that scale with many lbs falling down into olinemen like speeds allowing those with faster speeds to dominate slower backers.

The reason guys like chris johnson dominate in vids we have seen probably has to do with them being played on lower skill levels without slider adjustment and therefore on a scale closer to last year's but with ratings spread even further.
