Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

I'd really like to see at what level a 45 qb is.Would he be 8-30 with 6 ints. if he had to play a full game?I hope this was evaluated because no NFL qb should be that bad.I'd go through a season with the extremely low rated ones starting and make sure they didn't have a 30 qb rating with 40 picks.

72 isn't so low this year, basically he has been average and got an average rating. Anthony Spencer is a 72 as well.

Greenway>Henderson

Henderson is about to hit the 30 wall coming off a toe injury and both factors stand to affect his 4.8 speed. Greenway is 26 going into his prime as a football player and is coming off a great season, no way should Henderson be higher than Greenway.

Let's face it none of the Minnesota linebackers are particularly consistent in pass coverage (Except for maybe Ben Leber) and they stand behind one of the best D-lines in football, I agree Henderson should go up a few points but there are quite a few reasons why Henderson could just blow chunks next season.

I know I'm going to get flamed for this post but try to look at it subjectively, these ratings are less of a reward for past success and more of a projected output for the next few seasons.

Alternatively you could take Glorious Arc's angle and say..
"Overall should not be the end all be all in stats. It makes no logical sense to say "wow this guys overall is to high so lets lower a stat to make it look better." Players stats should represent how they play IRL not be scaled to fit a good "overall" image."

But oh wait that only ever works if the overall to goes in your favor. While we're at it let's give Nick Greisen 99 AWR because he is often considered one of the smartest linebackers in football (Alongside Ray Lewis and Zach Thomas).

Yeah that'd work...

I look at ratings as a stats creator and agree that you have to take into account the players around that particular player. There will always be a descrepency between what the players skills are vs. their actual output(stats). It really is impossible to project what a player will do.Is a player coming off an injury?Did he play injured which may look like he had a bad year but if healthy would have been much better?

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

I had literally only ONE gripe about ratings for my team, the Bills. Cornerback Leodis McKelvin was given an 87 speed and a 91 accel. McKelvin is known to have the speed to run down the field with any receiver in the league, and he was also a top 5 kick returner last year. In order for him to be able to defend receivers like he should and be effective on returns, his speed needs to be higher. I would think a 90 at the very LEAST.

Other than that, I really can't complain about the Bills' ratings. They all seem quite fair to me.
