The developers need to lay these rules down before they start to give speed ratings. Obviously they are not giving speed ratings according to forty times; so what guidelines are you guys going by to determine speed??? Oh I know sportcenter, the media, and idiots' perception. Since most linebackers run anywhere from 4.5 and lower, put them all in a speed bracket and don't stray from it. Lets say from 85 down. The guys that are the exception(p. willis and ect. should be given 1 or 2 points higher with more acc. Use the quickness, awareness, and playrecognition ratings separate the elite linbackers as it should. And there you have it.
Since all corners run anywhere from a 4.5 and faster, rate them occordingly. 85 and up. 85 to 99 is plenty to separate the D. Halls from the A. Henrys of the world. There is a reason why if A player doesnt run a certain forty for a certain position, THEY WILL NOT DRAFT HIM, OR HE HAS TO "CHANGE HIS POSITION." This leads to everyone having a certain speed for their position.

Safeties fall in the same category as the corners, but there may be a hanfull of guys that run in the 4.6 4.7 range. They can be rated in with the linebackers.
Tightends should fall in with the linebackers, 85 and lower, with the few exceptions,(V. Davis and company) and wide receivers should fall in with the corners, with exceptions to the 4.6 4.7 guys, which there shouldnot be many.
And there you have it. You have the elite speed guys per position standing out, like p. willis and etc. having corner and safety like speed, v. davis and etc. having wr like speed and there wont be all of these jacked up speed ratings.EA, There are slow corners in the league but, stop allowing perception to and media hype, get you away from the facts; because A. Henry is not slower than 50 pecent of the linebackers in the league. EA, slow corner, 4.5, not a slow linebacker, 4.8. This is not hard. if you apply these guidelines to your speed ratings, it will make us happy, and no one would be able to pick apart the logic that you are using.
Your wrong there are LB's that are faster the WR's ther are actually tons.

CB's on Avg are the fastest players but Anthony Henry was a 4.6 guy in his prime and prolly a 4.7 guy now.

Also I assume the niggling injuries and his age (He's about to hit the 30 wall coming after a very average season) would have something do with it.
LT is still a fairly elite back in the fact that he can run with solid ability in all methods of running, has good vision/awareness, and can catch/block better then most RBs. LT deserves to have a 99 carry because he is one of the best RBs ever at holding onto the ball. I could care less about the "overall" of a player. If he is overall higher then AP then so be it. AP is still going to be beastly in comparison to LT running the ball and that is all that should matter.

"Overall" should not be the end all be all in stats. It makes no logical sense to say "wow this guys overall is to high so lets lower a stat to make it look better." Players stats should represent how they play IRL not be scaled to fit a good "overall" image.

I cant support something as illogical as this. Donny has yet to respond to why LT "deserves" his 87 carry. If he could give me a legit reason why, I would not be as upset. Although, there may not be a legit reason why he got the shaft expect for the facts listed above which is plain silly.

EDIT
The other line of thinking is this...If they adjusted an obvious stat that should have been highly rated for a player so his overall looks good...How many other players did they do this to?

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

next year i think there should be no overall ratings and just have things like A+ player of F simialr to nba 2k9 because then donny can actually make the ratings reflect 100% as LT should have a carry of 100 but if he puts it up that high people will moan that Tomlinsons rating is too high so therefore they should take out the overall rating and just have a letter system like a, b, F etc

If this happened then players can truly reflect there real life conuter parts and it would stop a lot of bitching abour overall ratings when its actually specific ratings that should matter not overall

I am totally against this, they can easily give LT higher carry and lower another attribute.

Using a letter system would be nice and neat but people would still say "Hey why is so and so a B instead of an A." Currently, Overall is eye candy. It is almost completely worthless. All it does is take general ratings and gives everyone a general idea about how good that player is compared to other players.

In Head Coach 09 they made overall have a meaning. How do you ask? They let you pick what type of player you wanted for that position(Moves RB, Workhorse RB, Balanced RB, Power RB, Receiving RB) and they would take the players stats and give them an overall based on what type of player you wanted.

So Reggie Bush would have a 90+ overall in a Receiving back role compared to a 50-70 overall in a power back role. This allowed for them to give players the ratings they truly deserve.

I am neither for or against the Letter system for overall.

And I agree with cowboyscowboys that LT could use a few points dropped in a his trucking. LT is not near the high 80 range range trucking(dont remember the exact number). He trucks a little bit lesser then Deanglo(sp) Williams and he has an 82. The concept still remains though that it is wrong to just drop a players stats to make their overall look pretty.

yes they could do that but then his ratings in ither cattegories wouldnt reflect his ability in real life.

Maybe they dont have a letter system but they have to get rid of overall so the ratings can be more realistic

I agree,I'm not a Vikings fan but I want to see everyone get ratings they deserve.I think he should be higher than Greenway,I'd say 85-86.I don't think Leber's that bad a player either and should be up to around 70 anyway.
