Yeah, but he played 2 games(I think) before getting injured and gets dropped that much however Brady doesn't play at all and drops 2 overal. Not seeing it. I mean the Vikes had the #1 Rush def in the league but our LB are 83 / 80 / 66. Yeah, that makes alot of sense.

Re: All Ratings Talk Here Per Millennium

Thankgod... i thought i was alone on this subject.

I wonder if Donny lost some money on the vikings in the playoffs cos we got screwed big time!!!

80 for E.J is joke... you can spout injured and stretched ratings all you like but no other defensive captains/defensive player of the year and pro bowl pre injury have dropped 13 points.

It's ludicrous.

The stats have been posted enough so i won't bother but it just doesn't add up.

If it's a typo then fine, if it's a mistake then i would hope it would be corrected, if it's intentional then i'd be interested to know the reasons in comparison to other injured players or players that aren't as good not getting such a drastic reduction.

ps. There are others that i feel have been shafted but only E.J has been completely misjudged.

Wow they totally demolished the vikings. Some flaws I see
EJ Henderson is an 80. An injury does not stop you from being an elite player.
Lets take a look at some stats....
EJ Henderson
2006: 109 tackles 76 solos 2 picks 1 defensive td (45 yard int return)
2007: 118 tackles 94 solo
2008: in 3 games before injury: 27 tacles 23 solo

Now lets look at 88 overal julian peterson
2006: 89 tackles 71 solo 1 int
2007: 74 tacles 63 solo 2int
2008: 86 tackles 65 solo

Or 95 rated Lance Briggs
2006: 130 tackles 109 solo 2 int (good year)
2007: 102 tackles 83 solo
2008: 110 tackles 90 solo 3 int

I know EJ isn't a big name Superstar but he surely deserves some love. I wouldnt even complain as much about an 85 but an 80? He is the cornerstone of our D. Sure he got injured but by that standard should Brady be a 90?
I agree.

You tell me who got screwed!!!! I know that 40 times don't represent real game speed but how can anyone justify there being a 6 point difference? Forte's also got better agility and acceleration. How did they figure that in?

I don't think Kevin Smith's ratings are bad. I just think that Forte's ratings are skewed on the "high" side.
Smith doesn't really have 4.43 game speed and coming out of college he didn't have the breakaway speed for the NFL. 84 does seem a bit low in comparison to other RB's though so something like an 86 would make a bit more sense.

Honestly Fortes overall should go down a few points and Smiths up 1 or 2 points. Fortes rookie season was blown out of proportion by the media; he had some really good games against a few poor defenses to go along with some generally inconsistent rushing performances throughout the season. Though to be fair it's only when you add in his great receiving ability, good blocking ability and his potential upside that the full picture forms.

The problem is that Forte stands to have a better sophomore season because he has the typical makeup of a good complete NFL back, with the addition of a passing game and improvements across the Chicago line Forte appears to be in a good position to produce. Whereas it's debatable whether Kevin Smith will still be able to produce when the Lions become competitive and defenses are forced to key in on him.

Essentially because he is a corner back that is inconsistent in coverage, most of his good games came against poor passing attacks (E.g Tavaris Jackson to Bobby Wade) and he generally allows a high number of completions.

Now this is only a relatively small sample size but you can see how in over half the games listed he would allow over 70% of the passes thrown his way.

He makes a high number of tackles because he let's a lot of the balls to reach the receiver and because he is so willing in run support which will skew the numbers (Also high tackles on a corner isn't necessarily a good thing). Graham misses a fair amount of tackles (Partly because he makes so many tackle attempts in a game and also because of poor technique) which could be why he has such a low tackle rating; he's more of a hitter than a tackler (Pretty common in physical corners).

McBride should be higher because he showed he was a decent cover corner in limited time.

Mcbride actually was horrible this year when he did play he played in the Vikings game that was the high scoring game n he actually played because corey graham got hurt n did not play that whole game
And sorry to say it but gaham never played agaist Jackson

N from what I remember a graham had quite a few tackles at the line of scrimge n the run game
I will admit he is not great against the pass but he is verygood for a corner against the run
