Suggestion to Ian and the Rating Guys:
Bret Farve: 61 Overall, 40 Pass Strength(1 point per yard he through at the end of the Jets season), 20 Deep ball Acc, and make sure you put his Injury at 2 so I can forcefully retire him in Madden.

How about a busted knee, will be 30 when the season starts and how 30 year old backs tend to drop off especially coming off of injuries. I do think he will be alright due to not having the career workload some of those other backs have had but I really doubt he will play up to the expected amount for that highly rated of a player.

With the adjusted speed differentials and hopefully ian and co working acceleration more into the picture this should be able to be properly shown without having to give people speed ratings beyond what they really are.
westbrook is fast. i don't know why people don't understand this. no one catches the man in the open field, he's not going to get run down.

Also, westbrook has been a starting running back for 5 and a half years and has only rushed for over 1000 twice.

okay. thats your opinion, but madden ratings portray both his expected output and the players past output, in accordance with that, westbrook is a top back in this league.

I see very little in that vid that really screams blazing speed. There are a couple plays where he just outruns people put there are way more where people catch up but he evades that tackle or where people took wrong angles or where they go to the next clip before showing wether he gets caught or not so I will assume he gets caught until I see prove otherwise.

What that video does show is that he is very elusive, hits top speed very quickly, when there is a hole there he gets to speed quickly and gets through it, he is stronger than at least some dbs when he has a head of steam and can run over the occasional db, but it really doesn't show that blazing speed you all are claming he has. On some of those clips he actually gets caught by 3 or 4 guys even if they don't actually make the tackle doing more to support our side of the argument, that he is not blazing fast but hits top speed very quickly.

Re: Here ya go Ian...

thats b/c hes constantly cutting, for example the redskins screen: catches the ball runs past 4.35 Laron Landry, and is out-running him but gets touched when cutting for the endzone. ex2: beats the whole defense on 2 runs against the giants, and lets not forget the vikings screen in the playoffs

Ok, lets go off of past performance. Last season he was 18th in the league in rushing yards, 18th in yards per game, 13th in rushing TDs, 20th in carries of over 20 yards, and did not have a carry over 40 yards.

The year before that, by far his best season, 3rd in yards, 4th per game, 11th in tds, tied for 3rd in 20 yard carries and still no 40 yard carries.

The year before that, his other really good season, 8th in yards, 10th per game, 14th in tds, 9th in 20 yard carries, and tied for 12th with 1 40 yard carry.

He really only had 1 year where he was a top back running the ball. He had another where he was near top 10 running the ball and another where calling him top 10 carrying the ball would be pretty damn generous as statistically he was closer to the bottom part of the top 20. These were his 3 best seasons carrying the ball by the way.

Therefore going off of that running the ball I would have to say he is not a top 10 player and as he is getting older and constantly banged up how much longer can he even maintain that? He is a very good receiving back but those numbers took a pretty sharp drop last year as well.
