Kicking(Holder)

I Believe Kicking has been the same for a while now and there is time for change and i think the importance of the "Hold" involved during a field goal is a VERY important issue that is missed in the gameplays mechanics. You can have the most accurate kicker of all time to kick a game winner but if the hold is not right then the kick is doomed. Ask Romo


If you guys have any ideas into how to implement this into madden i would appreciate it so the developers can have an idea of how they can implement it into Madden 10 or future Maddens.

My Idea
there should be a meter that swings from left to right and you would have to press "A" in the middle of the meter to set the position of the hold (If it is too far left or right of the center then there is an increased chance of a botched snap) then by using the right thumb stick it can initiate the actual kick motion we use today

I definitely agree that the snap is important to a kicks success, but it should be like APF where it's pretty random.

Random? man thats scary when you place it in the A.I's hands to decide your fate on a superbowl game winning field goal. Don't have romo holding then

I don't think APF 2k8 is random..it matters how you pull back on the stick.

I think this should def be added into Madden. Some sort of way that the snap and hold actually mean something. The kick is all timing and how well the holder is able to get it down. If you add bad snaps and such you are going to mess witht the timing which will make the kicking game way more challenging.

The way APF 2k8 implemented this is pretty cool and makes kicking a ton of fun! I have even seen a snap sail over my punters head which was one of the coolest things I have ever seen in a football game.

Just have one in 20-25 snaps go bad. No 'rating', no way to prevent it, just once in awhile have a high snap. But please, do NOT make kicking too difficult.

I think something needs to change in all the areas of special teams including all the kicking/snapping/holding mechanics.

This sounds like something i would dislike such as todays blocked kicks which are also random and annoying. I would rather have fate in my own hands by implementing a mechanic that makes me mad at my own mistake rather then hate madden for 2 days
