Progressing awareness on defensive backs?

Is there a way to make awareness progress on defensive backs? I like to draft CBs as there are a lot of good athletes available in the top 10 picks. However, all the cornerbacks start off with awareness well below 60. Now that the training in Franchise is no longer directly stats but weapons, how do I make the awareness go up?

The CB's are definitely progressing at the end of the season after the patch, but not in awareness. And the smart CB weapon seems to be linked to play recognition and reading the presnap play, not awareness, as training it has had no effect.

Is there any way to increase awareness over time, or are drafted CBs doomed to be unaware their entire career?

im pretty sure you can improve the awareness rating in training... i dont know if it really affects the players actually playing ability, other than his rating. also... im pretty sure their awareness progresses in the offseason too (if they did well, statistically, in the previous season) though im not def of this cos i can't remember.

Back before 08 I believe, you just picked the attributes directly that you wanted to improve. Since the weapons were added to the game, you improve the player's weapons in the training mode, which indirectly then improves the attributes related to that weapon.

The problem with defensive awareness for corner backs and safeties is that there IS no weapon directly linked with the awareness attribute. To clarify, the "Smart Corner" weapon is directly correlated with PLAY RECOGNITION, not awareness.

Also, in the offseason, the corners all improved drastically. However, awareness was not a stat that improved. Is awareness no longer a significant defensive attribute for corner backs? It still affects their overall rating quite significantly, but does it effect their play? Or does play recognition determine defensive back performance?

If awareness is still significant, has anybody had any success progressing it? Please, let me know how the new attribute systems work. There are so many different attribute categories now that without explanation, it is quite vague as to how the attributes translate onto the field.

Defensive Recognition is the new awareness for defense. Consider awareness almost inconsequential for defenders.

So is it pretty much a glitch that awareness effects overall so much? I think I am going to test some 0 AWR corners in practice compared with a 99 AWR corner, with the same PRC.

If this is proven, than it is comforting to know that it is not a problem. I am really enjoying this game with the sliders fixing the pass defense and the post-patch franchise progression/lack of freezing.

Well PRC is definitely the defensive counterpart of AWR.

For as why AWR has a huge impact on ovr instead of PRC, that i dont know.

Anybody know if the OVR ratings are outdated/not based on the right factors?
