Spin Move Juke

Spin Move Juke

So I guess the spin move they have now is ok , then can just also add the one for braking out of a tackle.
All college and high school. Those kind of spin moves will 9 times out of ten be followed by four tacklers in the pro's. Look at all of the bad angles the tacklers are taking and where is the pursuit.

^^^Perfect example is of how Reggie Bush could do all that crazy stuff in College, but in the pros he's not able to make it work consistently.

First, all of the those videos are either high school or college games; second, all those are highlight reel type plays. You're not going to see spin moves like that very often. They're unrealistic

I agree with the previous posters. The point I made earlier about reggie bush stands true for this issue. The spin move is obsolete in the NFL. The madden engine is more suited for NCAA not so much for the NFL. You dont see spins like that much in real life, maybe the broken tackle spin, but almost never for a juke. NFL players take much better angles and are too quick which is why NFL running backs just lower their head to get a few more yards, not spin and risk getting jacked up.

Re: Early look / prototype

lol I knew that would come up about it being NCAA or HS.

Ok let me see if I can find some on the NFL level.

Now dont get me wrong I agree to an extent about the spin move. I just know for sure that players do spin moves for a juke in the NFL also. Obviously not as frequently that you see it in NCAA or HS. We all know that the talent pool of football players in the NFL is much higher than any other league thus pulling this off is not as often, but it does happen. (Rarely lol)

Great discussion guys.

To clarify...are some of you suggesting the spin move be removed as an open field move?

Remember, the spin move has been available for 20 years...what would you replace it with in the open field?

I wouldn't mind it going away. I mean, you could almost do the same thing with the left analog stick, though it wouldn't be a spin move on a dime like the animation. Plus, the animation allows users to do fake spins and full spins in opposite direction which are insane.

maybe replace it with a lower the shoulder move? The one where the guy sort of "braces" for the contact in order to protect the football. Just a thought off the top of the head.

The spin move is fine Ian...I don;t think anyone wants to see it go away...I just think people don't want it to be as effective as it has been in past years...I personally don't use the spin unless its an appropriate time to do it but on the other hand there are guys that get the rock and immediately start spinning all over the place.

I think people want to see some risk/reward with the spin to go along with some players have a larger success rate with their spin based on ratings and attributes...I mean whats the diff between Lorenzo Neal's spin and Steve Slaton's spin????

While I hate taking control outta the user's hands would a CONTEXTUAL spin be more appropriate??? Kinda like the contextual dive over the pile or sideline dive animation...I don't know because the 1st time a spin does or does not occur when we think it should you guys will get crucified...Damned if you do spin...damned if ya don't spin

Ian,

Take out the double spin. No way is that realistic and it looks unnatural when doing the move. What nfl player have you seen do a double spin so fast like in madden 2009 without losing momentum?...lol
