Well great job so far man. It really looks a lot better.

Sorry man, but seeing how much better the running animations are looking, I can't help but start anticipating what the game will be like when these new prep steps are implemented across the board.

In the first video, you can see there is some acceleration there when starting from stand still. Agreed that it's not quite pronounced enough...not "urgent" enough. I'll see what we can do.

Top speed should look like a track sprinter...etc...etc..Look at combine tape of the 40 yard dash runs. Why can't the players look like that in Madden?
I *kind of* disagree on the 40 reference...the way the players run for a 40 yard dash is extremely different than running full speed with pads. But I get your point...I think all of us can agree that our "top speed" sprint animations don't have enough urgency in their look. Good feedback.

Re: Early look / prototype

What I seen here is alot of brothers wanting different spins. whether it be slower , or faster or tighter etc etc etc, and to be honest all of them are right.

What I know for a fact is as a runner you can control how and where you want to spin, and alot of good videos posted here proves that. A NFL or NCAA div 1 running back, and in 1 video here a 10yrd kid lol (Man that kid looked great). You can setup where u want to spin so just give us that in how we control of RB's. Lets say I want to spin to the right, I can push to the right as I hit the spin move and the same moving to the left, and if I push up or let the stick go I spin tight and straight. One other apect to a true NFL rb is Field vision and thats the ability to reconize the running lane or the ability to see it developing and change direction and fly through the hole. If u watch film thats the amazing thing that a solid rb does. reconize the lanes and hit them quick with a fast change of direction.

Here is one video with Tomlinson when he was healty showing what I mean. Look at some of his runs and how quickly he changed direction and found that running lane. The NFL game is fast and so should madden.

Just plz dont forget about the defense so the game is balanced. They have great agility and speed also.

Re: Early look / prototype

The small stutter steps are looking great, as well as the quick spin. I also agree with earlier posts, as far as keeping both versions of the spin. Hell, might as well throw a couple more variations in for good measure. You seemed to have changed it up pretty quickly. If its that easy, go ahead and throw a couple more in there.

As far as player specific animations are concerned, me personally, I'm not really expecting that, but the next best thing would be to attach the different spins/jukes/stutter steps etc, to agility ratings. So for exampe a player with 90 agility would more than likely do the quick spin like in the second video, where as a player with a lower agility # would do the old stock spin that we currently have in 09, along with others for different agile ratings.

On another note, now that you guys have implemented the break tackle feature (where you can spin and shake out of wrap ups) , if at all possible, try and have it to the point where absolutely NO animations are invincible. Currently, there are still a few instances where certain animations trigger and it seems that the ball carrier cant be touched while in said animations, ya know. Thanks again for the interaction with the community.

... This reminds me a lot of an animation in Nfl Fever 04. I don't know if anyone here remembers it, but it was a very scripted spin move that played just like that, it looked superb though. Hopefully Madden can do that but without it being so scripted.

Re: Early look / prototype

Ian here are some more videos on what I was explaining before with the running lanes, spin moves, PLAYERS CHANGE OF DIRECTION ON THE FLY, and the speed of the game.

1st on stage
Adrain peterson

2nd on stage
Maurice drew Jones

3rd on stage
Leon Washington

4th on stage
Stephen Jackson

As u can see with this last Video JAckson had a run where he displayed a very fast and straight spin move, and the change of direction a NFL RB has is insane.

Re: Early look / prototype

Please respond to my question Ian.

Will you guys add realism in cuts this year? Example: Let's say a DE is chasing Adrian Peterson(Min) to the sideline and all of a sudden he make an unexpected cut. The DE shouldn't be able to tackle Peterson unless he has high speed, agility because in real life his ankles would nearly be shattered at trying it.

Another thing, can you make blocking animations better? The blocking isn't very good. At times they don't block the guys in front of me but instead the guys I've already passed.

Also, a big DE with a speed rating of 60 shouldn't be able to catch Hester from the back while being blocked.

All of these have to do with animations. WE NEED THEM.
