Belichick in Madden 2010

Since Bill Belichick isn't a member of the NFL Head Coaches Association which has a deal with EA, Belichick isn't in Madden.

Alright. I get that.

But why not seek out Belichick's permission to include him even if it's a side deal? He's such a high profile coach, it would be nice to have him in the game.

And think about this:

If he's in the game, we could have a cut scene of a Belichick / Mangini post-game handshake!

Well, we first need them to bring the Head Coaching presence back to the sidelines. Perhaps the roughly 50 unnecessary polygonal character additions in 09 (24 of which were the yellow jacketed event staffers) made it impossible to maintain the full Head Coach presence like the previous 3 Madden's had.

OR....they could let us create a coach, edit his ratings, appearance, and tendencies and allow us to use them in franchise.

Ahh, what am I thinking

EA is just lazy. They dont feel like seeking out Belichick's people in order to cut a deal or ask for permission.

lol...I love how everything filters into "EA is lazy" or whatever EA hate slogan is thrown around. It takes a little bit of work to get those kind of individual deals done (plus a willing participant on the other end) and they must be allowed to do it (there are generally exclusivisities within exclusivisity deals, as I recall.

I'm sure that SCEA, 2K sports (you know, the makers of that other football game many worship) and others are "lazy." as well. Parcells wasn't in 2K5, even though he coached. Numerous baseball players are missing from both MLB games, and basketball games in the past couldn't always get MJ in their game (and currently can't as a legend).

I'm not saying it doesn't suck or there isn't a possible way of getting it done. I'm just saying that not everything boils down to "EA is lazy." EA is a business just like any other. I doubt they are going to start paying for individual licenses (that in many cases would probably lead to royalties of some kind) for every person that decides to not be a part of the system. We can always hope though...

OR at least they could give us create-a-coach (thought I'd toss that out there once more if Ian's listening...lol)

I think you're lazy. You don't feel like reaching over to the apostrophe key to include it in the word "don't".

Re: Belichick in Madden 2010

Create a Coach would be useful if they allowed a few things:

Skills: In Franchise each coach gives a specific ratings boost. Maybe choose what his specialty is and then answer some football scenario multiple choice problems (Your opponent comes out in 4 wide, what do you counter with?) or something. This could also tie into his OFF DEF ST ratings or something.

Appearance: One thing I've never understood is why EA doesn't implement the facial creator in every game, not just in it's Tiger Woods games. It's a great tool. (See below)

Tendancies and all that other jazz is pretty self explanitory.

100% agreed! This is what a few of us were talking about awhile back. Create-a-Coach should be more than just renaming a coach or using a "fat, skinny, normal" body formula with 5-10 head options. They used t have it (in the forementioned form) but scrapped it when they added coaching ratings. I

also would love to see a coaching roster you can access from the main menu (like a "coach" position, or broken down more specifically by type, ideally) for each team. That way you can edit, promote, change teams of, etc. all the coaches in the league to correct last minute changes not reflected or just create your own alternate universe in franchise.

OPTIONS, OPTIONS, OPTIONS...can't go wrong with that

Not create-a-coach, create-a-cheat
