LBZrules, man that was an aweosme post of examples. Good job putting that together as to that is some good stuff to have. Also take note of the players equipment and appearences. PLease implement that as well.

Re: Madden 20-10: Number of Animations

Ahhh what the hell let's go for a double LOL

WR/DB

Notice here the DB is not looking but the WR shows him that the ball is in the area so he just puts his hands up. We need this. Sometimes the WR needs to come down with it and sometimes the DB needs to knock it away.

Just not enough height. The QB throws way out front and Hall can't leap up like he can in the current Madden game and knock it away. If you are beat you are beat.

Just because you go up for it (hint rocket catch) does not mean you should automatically even get a hand on it.

Bad hands by the DB and the ball

Bounces back to the TE

DB has decent position but Fitz is just too good

good placement over the outside shoulder where the DB just has no shot.

Two defenders one WR what will happen

He snags it. Now this shouldn't happen too much. The problem with Madden is that this can happen way too much. I'll have to go back and watch this game. Although it shows him snag it here, I'm not sure 35 doesn't knock it out at the last second as you can see his hand is on it.

There you go, reach out and try to snag that one. Shouldn't always snag it, but it would be nice every now and then.

Tackling/Break Tackling

Will he drag him down or does the QB have enough to break out of it?

Get him around the legs.

Not going down easy. Keep the balance and lunge forward for more yardage.

Hanging on but get off me LOL.

Better luck next time. Just because you leap at the goal line does not mean it should be automatic.

Waist tackle

Three players in on the sack.

Get low corners and some safety players. Stop trying to tackle big guys up high.

He gets some jersey but Willis slaps his hand away.

Reaching for the Goal line even though I'm on the ground.

Hurdling

Get on up.

Troy up high and

... he fights with the back and wins the battle for the tackle.

Low tackle on big back and he lands on his head.

More waist tackling.

Tripped up.

Tackled from behind.

Reaching in vain.

grab the leg and hold on.

You got me this time because of the linebacker, but

Not this time.

SACKS

Going down but getting rid of it. Now this should be a moment of teaching. These passes should be very bad. Ducks and floaters that are up for grabs. Sometimes people need to learn to take a sack. Unless the throw is out of bounds.

Hit as he releases. Bad pass.

Ouch

Running

Trying to keep the feet on the cut. Put that hand down to keep balance.

OL/DL

keep using your hands if the defender wants to just run up field give him the push on up the field. QB has to adjust and step up.

Fight. OL fight to keep him away from the QB. DL fight to get to the QB.

excellent pic for OL/DL. Ball is snapped and look at the arms and hands. Look at the Center, he jabs Pecko and he's going to pass him on to the Guard. Look at Simms extend his arms and use his hands on the Guard. There is already some hand fighting up top between left tackle and the DE.

Another play combo pass blocking on 60 something. I thought it was Pecko but he's 94. Again notice the arms are extended and people are hand fighting and jabbing. The defenders are attempting to negate the arms and hands of the OL.

On the hurdle, what would be nice is also capture an animation where a defender meets the hurdler in the air. Shouldn't happen too often but it needs to be in the database so that when it does happen we are like ohhh damn that's nice.

!!!Offensive Line Blocking - Defensive Line Interactions!!!

Some off the top of my head
  1. penetration off a shoulder
  2. bull rush
  3. beat the corner shoulder of a OT
  4. create a pile up at the goalline
  5. Drive blocking
  6. Standing up a pulling block

Re: Madden 20-10: Number of Animations

this is going to be a little scatter brained I'm pretty sure...

If I have a defender with great big hitting ability and I sprint from my position in the defensive backfield all the way to or through the line of scrimmage and I engage a back who is trying to perform an iso block or is just taking me on in pass protection, that should trigger one of many contextual big hit animations.

If I'm running upfield trying to catch a back or reciever from behind and another offensive player at full speed engages me before I can move my player, a big hit animation should occur.

There are millions of examples of these types of hit animations that are not in the game but should be.

There should be hundreds of new tackling animations. Corner backs making tackles on bigger backs and recievers should always go low unless they have a big hitting ability or statistic like Antoine Winfield for example.

More to come later. I have to run.

Great point.

I'll second that. Even with everything I have posted if the transitional animations are not there then it looks disjointed.
