I love this game as well. I dumped the next gen version because of the freezing issues I was having. This game has a running game and the gameplay is very good.

I did the same thing with NCAA Football this year. Patch or not IMO it plays a better game of football.

Re: After playing the PS3 version for about 2 months and the PS2 version about 5 days

So if I were to try the previous gen version of 09, would you folks recommend the Xbox version or the PS2? I still actually own the original xbox and I have a PS3. In the past, I always got the xbox version as it was graphically superior as far as jaggies go. But would the PS2 version on the PS3 be better than the xbox1 version?

Thanks.

I would also like to throw in the same question regarding the Wii? Is the Wii version better or worse than the PS2/Xbox-version?

If choosing between Xbox or Wii wich one should I get?

the PS3 does very little if anything to enhance the graphics. I actually bought a new PS2 to play this, as well as my other library of PS2 games, and play on a standard TV. If you own the regular Xbox, I would recommend just picking the game up for that system. Just my .02

Xbox.

The Wii version is good, but its extremely catered to the casual gamer. Someone on here has the game so he could provide better insight than I. I can only speak from second hand info from a friend who bought the game so his son could play it.

same here. I am playing both Madden and NCAA on PS2 this year. Better overall experience in my opinion.

Re: After playing the PS3 version for about 2 months and the PS2 version about 5 days

I recommend PS2 due to the community. There are people still playing on PS2. I don't know if the Xbox version still has online play, but if it does, there will be few players due to the fact that the game isn't 360 compatible.

PS2 for the community, anyone know about the Wii community?

Like the above poster, for the community I would go with the PS2 but other wise Xbox is probably the best choice. From what I hear the Xbox has slightly better graphics and it doesnt have some of the frame rate issues the PS2 version has.

If you want me to break down everything the Wii version does that's annoying, I can. I can't, however, compare it to the X-box/PS2 version as I've never played them.

Here are some minor annoyances with the Wii version:

1. Mii referees

They are everywhere and you don't have the ability to turn them off. Kind of takes away from the realism when you have Peter Griffin and The Predator officiating your games.

2. Control scheme.

While I find most everything about the Wii's control scheme ok and easy to use, I can still understand how people would prefer the classic control scheme with button mashing instead of remote waggling.

3. Kicking/Punting

Not a huge complaint, but the kicking control is EXTREMELY sensitive. Meaning that if you move your hand even slightly while moving the controller, the game reads it too well.

4. No create-a-player

Pretty frustrating

5. No create-a-team

Extremely frustrating

But the good news is is that there are no extreme bugs or glitches, the franchise mode doesn't freeze and online already has built-in fair play which means no cheesers or cheaters online.

I'm not real picky about visuals, but man I know that has to be an eyesore. Kind reminds me of the days when we had Mario refereeing our boxing matches and animals umpiring our baseball games lol.
