Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Fix the blocking scheme for the run game!
One of the reason's the running game is so hard this year is because the O-Line do not carry out their assignments.
On dives and Isos, the center pulls to the left while the play art says he's supposed to fire straight up the field and he has a defensive player directly in front of him.
What?!?
On counters they run the opposite direction?!?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3Bdz...eature=related
At 1:25 in the video is exactly what I'm describing.
It's your basic HB sprint adn the play art shows the O-line firing straigth off the ball but when it's actually ran they all pull to the left!?!
If that's how the play works, make the play art reflect that.

Get rid of super human LBs!
LBs jumping 10 ft in the air to knock down a pass.
That's ridiculous.
Also make it so that if a defender is playing man and has his back to the ball, he can't make a play on it because unless he has eyes in the back of his head, he can't see it.
But if he is still strafing, he is more apt to jump the pass.

Interlace drop backs with routes and blocking schemes please.
That would go a long way into making this game so more realistic.
If you could include terminology in the plays that describe what kind of drop back it is that would also be beneficiary to us gamers.
Pancakes between OL and DL on pass plays should be a rare occurrence.
There should be more stalemates.
Strong DTs need to be able to get a push into the pocket or collapse so to speak therefore making it harder for the QB to step up into long throws.

Make long throws have a more exaggerated windups according to distance.
Signature style for QBs(Ball placement, cadence, stance, drop back, windup, release point)the top 20 should do. When drafting for franchise with all those distinctions, no 2 cpu generated QBs would be the same.

Change the running animations. They are TOO robotic.

Bring back the 2 different buttons for stiff arms(left and right)
Bring back the push back stiff arm animation
Allow us to give up/fall down when running with the ball and in the middle of a long tackle animation.
On the higher levels(all pro and all madden)get rid of the automatic moves.
If the user is playing on those levels he should know when to stiff, jump, juke, etc.

Assisted tackles, half sacks and hurries need to be tracked.
With gang tackles in the game, the first 2 are necessary for accurate stat tracking.

Players need to have position specific attributes, why do i care if my DL can kick or throw, I can't sub him there.

This one I think I can't say loud enough.
DO NOT LET THE ESPN HYPE MACHINE DICTATE WHAT THE PLAYERS RATINGS SHOULD BE.

Tone down how speed affects the overall rating, especialy for QBs.
That way Qbs like Garrard, McNabb and Romo can have accurate awareness.

Too many players overall in the 90's.
That should be exclusively for pro bowl type players or good players with 5+ years in the league.
Too many players with speed 95+.
It's all relative, if the slow guys are actually slow then the fast guys stand out more.

Wow, that was long. And that's just the beginning.
Stay tuned...

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

1) More in depth and true Online league with , trades, Free Agents, releasing, etc etc. Pretty much a Franchise mode done online with divisions, conferences and playoffs. Whatever is in the Franchise Mode, should be in the online league.

2) More realistic catch animation. Sometimes you throw up high and the receiver will glide backwards and making an impossible catch. Also, the last second acceleration to catch up to an over thrown ball. If the ball is over thrown, the ball is over thrown.

3) Better gang tackling animation. It seems gang tackling is primarily a two player animation. It seems you are not able to "finish off" somebody still fighting for yardage when be wrapped up by two defenders. Currently, if a runner is fighting for more yards while be held up by a defender stripping the ball, I should be able to hit stick and finish them off, but you can not and u just pretty much slip off them.

4) Assigning a cb to a specific receiver at all times, the same as they had on the ps2

5) Revival of the formation shift option

6) on the fly audibles.

7) Man defense actually working

8) More fatigue when a team runs a no huddle offense. On both the offensive and defensive side. Players run slower, qb's are less accurate, OL dont hold blocks as long, lb's tackling is diminished

9) Adjust accuracy for Qb's throwing on the run

10)More celebrations

11) No full presentation like NFL2k. Dont need half time show pre game show and all that stuff. I skip them anyway

12) More stat overlays during the game and variety of overlays.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Everybody has great ideas. Too bad you guys don't work for EA lol.

I agree with the importance of presentation/atmosphere/cut-scenes. I laughed when I read the back cover of Madden 09- "Beyond Broadcast Presentation". I want Madden to feel like I'm watching a real NFL game on TV. Make commentators take the time to record as many players' names, scenarios. Make MNF games, playoffs, superbowl special experiences as they should be.
Home Field Advantage- especially during the playoffs. When playing the Colts or the Seahawks on the road, it should be harder to call audibles or hot routes.
Crowd- Dynamic attendance, team/player specific chants, cutscenes of fans cheering.
Make cutscenes- QBs talking on the phone/looking at photos, offense/defense meetings on bench. After a TD, player gets high fives, pats on back/butt from sideline. Player cutscenes with their helmets off. Sideline reporter for injury updates. If some users don't want these, just create a fast play option where they're taken out.
Improve player faces. Some stars still don't look anything like themselves.
I agree with the height, weight thing. Height is crucial in football. This needs to be translated to Madden. WR vs. CB- big receiver=easier jump balls/more physical, QB seeing over line- small QB=more batted balls. On the other hand, short players like MJD/Steve Smith/Jeff Garcia make up for their "vertical challenge" by feeling much quicker/mobile than their taller counterparts. Weight is also crucial. Big QBs like Big Ben should be harder to take down. Giant LTs should open holes when matched up against a lighter pass rusher. Big NT like Jamal or Patt Williams should not be pushed back.

Equipment- missing revolution (Polamalu wears it), full cage w/o bull ring or two bar, LT's one
Towels (player specific and for rainy games), Mouthpieces, Hand Warmers, Diff. team color shoes/gloves (ex. bright green Seahawks, orange Bears)
Gloves for certain QB on snowy games
I love the goal line and special teams depth charts ideas.
Better OL A.I.- create a pocket for Qb to step up into
User ability to double team any dominant DL. Likewise, the CPU will DT your best DL. NFL teams need to double big noses to run up the middle. Some LTs need help with Dwight Freeney type players. I like the previous ideas of combo moves for DL.

Great idea with the fumble pile ups.
Goal Line- Put in RB jump over pile
Some Player Specific plays- Big WR/TE (Plax, Moss, Gates) get a back of the endzone fade route and QB can lob it high.
Give DBs and WRs a deep ball defense/playmaker rating

Bring back the Vision Cone- Ability to look off safety, separates the avg. QBs from the elite ones.
Pocket presence/elusiveness stat and feature- Separates QBs like Romo, Big Ben, Brady, Manning from the others.

CPU A.I. utilizes its best weapons on offense. I hate it when the CPU doesn't give the star RB enough carries, the top receiver enough balls thrown to him. CPU A.I. defense will try to stop your best weapon on offense. Ex.- Have the D put 8 or more in the box to stop AD or LT. This gives a greater impact and value to the player. Likewise, the CPU will recognize defensive playmakers like a Champ Bailey and Brian Urlacher, and not run plays in their direction.

Fix Running Animation- Players run like they're ice skating.
Fix Throwing Animation- QBs look like they're throwing shot put. Put in certain QB specific throwing/dropback animations

Take more time to test for glitches before release.

Suggestion - Make two versions of Madden. One version is for the casual/newcomer gamer. This would feature the "adapt to you" stuff, minigames, focus more on the basic play now and online. The other version is the sim for the hardcore football fans. This would leave out those gimmick features, add numerous sliders (user and cpu), more in-depth franchise (like Head Coach).

Sorry for the long post, I'm greedy.

Getting rid of the "Roster Requirements" for releasing players and adding players and such.

Expand the rosters to include Practice Squad in Franchise.

09 is great

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

I agree with all of the DB and WR stuff aswell as OL/DL

-Make the game more fast paced. I was watching mnf yesterday and it seemed nothing like madden. i was like wtf madden get it right.

-use ESPN overlays or NFL Network overlays.

-Have a weekly recap show.

-THE GAME IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY ESPN/NFL NETWORK (depending on which one they go with) NOT EA SPORTS THEY MAKE VIDEO GAMES NOT TELEVISE FOOTBALL.

i'm done. if it wasnt so late id write more.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

A few more...

-Training mode - Allow us to select what we want to practice and what positions will participate.

Ex 1.
Practice: Passing
Participants on Defense: RCB, LCB, SS, FS, WLB, SLB, MLB
Participants on Offense: QB, FL, SE, TE, Slot, RB, FB

Ex 2.
Practice: Pass Rush
Participants on Defense: RE, LE, DT, DT, WLB, SLB, MLB
Participants on Offense: LT, LG, C, RG, RT, QB, RB, FB

Also include special teams. And Rewind could be incorporated to help folks learn the game.

-Remove the auto tackle for defenders jumping for the ball at least on the upper difficulty levels

-General Theme - Any gameplay decision made on the casual gamer's behalf, limit it to the lower difficulty levels.

-General Theme - Instead of dumbing down any aspect of the game for casual fans, consider taking the opposite approach and teach the game through features like rewind, the training suggestion above, ect. It seems like the arcade aspects of the game have an unintended ripple effect. For example, realistic physic would allow route running ratings to separate good, slower receivers from lesser but faster receivers instead of artificially boosting the speed of the better WR.

Not only that. If you call a man defense for example, hot routing a blitz for someone with coverage responsibility leaves his man open. I never understood how people made this work without hot routing a few defenders to make sure everyone was covered. Hot routing is not a good substitute.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

I've been asking for this for years. 1st you pick your play, then you select your snap count. then you have to remember your snap count and execute it correctly or you get a false start. It takes the randomness out of a false start, and the you can throw the defense off who is trying to jump the snap. Also if you snap too early your o-line could be caught off guard, or you could have a fumbled snap, something that is a part of football, but that we don't see in the videogames.

Every board i posted that on said its a great idea, takes the randomness out of false starts, and introduces new elements to the game without being too random. There is a rhyme and reason for why they happened or could have happened. I am not even saying every early snap has to be a botched snap. An o-lineman could just end up being slow off the gun because he expected the count later and the play gets blown up in the backfield. There still is a little randomness, but at least you would know why certain things happened.

Please bring back formation shifts but make it so that you can only shift once per play..

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Another Idea I had was somehow to balance the teams for online play in a way like they do in gambling. Such as have the Dolphins start the game with 10-12 point if you were matched up against the Patriots and so forth. Not sure how to implement that but would give incentives for people picking the lower tear teams more, rather than always playing against the cowboys, patriots and Chargers. Or if when picking a team that was favored by 10 or more points allow them to draft a Free Agent prior to game to help balance game... Many ideas going through my head... Say Dolphins are playing the Cowboys... All the teams other than the Cowboys would be available for the Dolphins to pick a player from, could you imagine adding Randy Moss to them.. that would be fun and all of a sudden you would see people picking so many different teams to try.

And lastly. Have the ability during an online game to offer a trade (only once per game, so that people could delay the flow of the game). Say at the beginning a screen comes up and says playerX has offer to trade Randy Moss for LT etc. If it's denied he can't offer any further ones. I guess it would add a little more strategy especially if you like to play with your favorite team (in my case Panthers) but would really like to give Steve Smith a Dual threat at another receiver etc. Playing around with rosters before an online game in All Pro 2K8 gave that game alot of replay value as well as depth in strategy.
