Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

More individual defense playmaker option such as I could tell a linebacker to read or key the halfback or tell the safety to read or key the QB or TE.

Better short yardage interaction between the OL/DL ( The goals is to get lower then your oppoent)

There should be a difference between hurry up and No huddle.
In no huddle you should access to all the plays in the playbook
In hurry up you should have access to two to three plays.

80 man rosters in franchise mode

Created plays and playbooks (also accessible online)

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

These are for the franchise mode alone. That is the only mode of Madden I have played for the last 7 years.
  • All the facemask's that are in the NFL.
  • Improved CPU team off-season logic (draft,free-agency).
  • A franchise that has rescricted free-agents.
  • The ability to trade future draft picks.
  • Lower starting salary's for imported rookies.
  • Vastly improved progression/regression.
  • Ability to edit any player from any team.
  • CPU teams offering you trades during the off-season.
  • When a players morale is low, it shows. He asks to be traded, he becomes a distraction. When CPU teams have low morale players, it doesn't cost you a 1st and 2nd round draft pick to get them.
  • Suspensions for players who break league rules.
  • Rookie scouting that gives you a better idea about what kind of player he is (mini-games w/rookie).
  • The ability to edit rookies before they come into the league.
  • The ability to edit a players height/weight.
  • Improved mini-games, possibly a training camp to give you a better idea what you have as a team.
  • Practice squads to keep free-agents rookies/ lower-tier players on. You bring them in and during the season you could have messages telling about how they are doing.
  • Players who hold-out for better contracts, rookies and veterans.
That is all I can think of right now. I just want an authentic franchise experience. It should mirror the NFL. After all, "If it's in the game, it's in the game" right???

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Franchise Mode:
  • Improved progression (If a guy has a monster season, his rating should be reflected by that. Also, players should regress as they get older depending on their position)
  • Improved Free Agency/Draft AI
  • Ability to trade future draft picks
  • Ability to change owners in the offseason (like on PS2/Xbox versions as of 2006, not sure about later ones as I haven't played them)
  • Expanded rosters before the regular season so cuts need to be made in the weeks prior to the season
  • Training camp before the season (like on PS2/Xbox). The drills need to be addressed as well. Aside from the QB, 40-yard dash and OL drills on current gen, I prefer all of the drills on legacy gen. The WR/DB drills on current gen are just way too difficult compared to the previous gen versions. And where are drills for kickers? If I want to increase my kicker's power, why am I doing bench press instead of a kicking drill?
  • Add incentives/bonuses to contracts
  • Redo the entire scouting system with something that actually works and makes a difference. The current implementation has no bearing on anything.
  • Injury system similar to Head Coach 09 (ie. wear and tear on specific body parts that get hit a lot. Also, an injury slider would be nice. Maybe one for injury severity, and one for injury frequency).
  • Regarding injuries, it shouldn't be known right away if a guy is out for 8 weeks. It should just say Shoulder injury and then I should be updated later in the game with the injury results. It could say Out for Game when the results come in, but then the guy has an MRI the next day and I find out he's completely torn his ACL and is out for the season. Or the MRI shows no damage and he's now questionable for the next week. Maybe he needs surgery and you can choose whether to do it now effectively ending his season, or wait till the offseason with a risk of making the injury more severe.
  • Roster requirements should change depending on the system you run. A 3-4 team should have different requirements than a 4-3 team or a Spread offense will have different requirements than a Run Heavy offense.
  • AI playcalling based on real life teams' strategy, or better yet, on whoever the Head Coach/Coordinator is (ie. Colts run a lot of no huddle, but say they bring in an entire new coaching staff with different philosophies, their playcalling should reflect this. Also, the way they address FA, Draft, etc. should be based on their philosophies too).
  • Ability to create new uniforms without relocating. Also, instead of new uniforms replacing the current ones, give the option to add alternate uniforms only if desired.
  • Add weekly local/national newspaper
  • Ability to talk/bring players out of retirement
  • More players in the draft so there is a lot more undrafted rookies, with a lot more position variety (not just a bunch of FBs and Ks)
  • Have a discipline rating for players and make it so that players with lower discipline need more time keeping them in line. Not sure what the user will have to do to keep them in line, but if they don't, these players should do things like miss a practice or get in a fight at practice all the way up to getting a DUI or being involved in an incident at a nightclub. This will lead to suspensions. Some players might have it so bad that you really have to work at keeping them in line and if you don't, the only thing that will help them is a change of scenery.
  • Better Pre-game/Post game presentation, Halftime show with highlights of other games.
  • Ability to import coaches and co-ordinaters from NCAA into Madden who bring their playbooks with them
  • Add a ticker at the bottom that shows scores of other games that week.
  • The ratings for the top of the draft class (imported NCAA) are way too high in 09. Nobody should be coming in as a 96 their first year or it should be very rare like if a guy in NCAA had 99 ratings across the board then there would be an exception.
  • The CPU needs to handle the cap better. After year one of a franchise, the Seahawks drafted Tebow first overall, then never signed him because they didn't have the cap room so he became a free agent. A few seasons later the Colts cut Manning who was still a 99 because they were over the cap.
Gameplay/In-Game/Other Stuff
  • Allow us to choose what we want to challenge (like NFL 2K5)
  • Option to choose pants and jerseys separate so that we can make our own combinations and let us see the uniform at the uniform selection screen
  • Make sliders extreme. For example, Interceptions set to 0 should mean there will be absolutely zero Interceptions. Interceptions set to 100 should mean every single pass gets picked off (unless it's thrown away of course).
  • Add a block kick slider
  • Add a slider for CPU Snap Delay (ie. it's numbered 0 to 10. 0 means the CPU snaps the ball as they did pre-patch #2 in Madden 09. 10 means they wait at least 10 seconds before then waiting another random amount of time before snapping)
  • For extra points, punts, and other situations where there's no need to run the clock, have the cpu snap the ball quickly.
  • Strong safeties and strong side linebackers should always line up on the strong side. Get rid of ROLB and LOLB and just have them as SLB and WLB.
  • Make taller WRs more effective. If I have a 6'5" WR on a 5'9" CB, the CB shouldn't be dominating him on jump balls. This is more prevalent on higher difficulty levels, especially All-Madden. I understand All-Madden is supposed to be tougher, but it shouldn't be made unrealistic just to make it tougher. The CPU should player smarter on All-Madden, not "cheaper".
  • Have the chain gang (if they're implemented) come out to measure on close spots
  • Some type of home field advantage. Not necessarily the same as NCAA, but the Seahawks crowd didn't get named the 12th man for nothing.
  • Add half sacks and assisted tackles
  • More trick plays in the playbook (ie. Reverses, Double Reverses, Direct Snaps, HB Pass, WR Pass, Options, Flea Flicker, WR Double-Reverse Pass...you get the idea)
  • When editing ratings/creating players, allow us to jump up/down by more than one point if we wish. Same when offering contracts. Allow us to go up by a million at a time if we want.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

I know, here we go again with the NFL2K5 stuff, but you guys have to remember that 2K5 was and is the most amazing football game on the planet.
  • Not a solid but a very strong presentation as NFL2K5 Had. It doesn't have to be ESPN just make it look good like ESPN and use NFL Network with Rich Eisen, Faulk, Dukes or Sanders. Whatever you want to do, just put in a halftime show and a very strong presentation to the game.
  • I know I'll get flamed for this but I really miss custom plays. I actually spent a lot of time in the previous maddens drawing up my own plays. You can block this feature for online play for offline it's freakin awesome.
  • Fix the blocking issues with the CPU. I don't like it when my blocker avoids a block to run across the opposite field to make a stupid block when my HB is clearly running to the sideline. No blocking = a poor run game. This is why so many people are complaining about the running game, it's the bad mechanics of blocking.
  • Legandary players and cards. You guys need to bring this back and a lot of old school teams like the 85 Chicago Bears and use their actual looks and name. You own the F***ing rights to NFL right? Why not add these players and teams in the game. I've read about this for 09 but I've never seen it.
  • Allow us to customize the roster a bit more. What if I want Devin Hester as a RB, why can't I do this? How about putting an OL as a FB as the Bears did in 85 with Perry, why are they stuck with only 1 or 2 positions? I do recall when we were able to do this, the player stats would go down for the position but it will allow us to improve them during the season and groom them for that position.
  • Fix the screen plays, they don't work too well. I love doing WR screens but when they flop or the receiver is running in make the play unusable. The same goes with the HB Screen. The HB is wide open with 3 blockers but as soon as he gets the ball on any setting he's crowded by defenders and the blockers don't do their job. If I have a wide open field with the ball in his hands, I expect the play to work as intended.
  • Allow us to control the speed of our players besides holding on to the right trigger to sprint. I know there's no acceleration anymore so that kills the running game off the snap. Why not add a tab button burst like 2K5 to allow us to control the speed of the HB. Maybe I want to sprint early after the snap and slow the pace down for my blocks and unleash in the open field.
  • Player physics look stupid. Need to make the players larger then life and put more detail like height and weight. I've noticed weight doesn't make a difference in the game. Why is my HB the same hieght as the OL or the wide receivers. If I have a Barry Sanders type running back, I expect him to be small and quick. This helps make the HB more elusive and harder to tackle.

That's if FOR NOW.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

1. Presentation.

Enough said. Don't make it NFL2K like, make it even better. That goes for pregame, halftime, postgame, and weekly highlights in dynasty/season modes. Make is next gen like we expected to begin with.

2. Online.

Give us a true online season or franchise mode like NCAA

3. Gameplay tuning

Don't change anything dramatically or add new modes and such. Just fix what is already in place. Stop the robo QB, enhance the playcalling, enable deep passing from the cpu. Make sliders so that they truly work.

4. Community involvement

Listen to the guys on sites like this. The improvement to the game just this year and the feedback from the guys I think helped make those changes were huge. Keep that moving forward and the game will continue it move as well.

ability to download roster updates without paying for an XBOX Gold membership.

why should XBOX 360 owners who don't play online be denied an updated roster?

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

Gameplay
  • DL/OL interactions: Football is all about the war in the trenches, Madden needs to reflect that. Better double teams, collisions, pass rush moves, and a REAL POCKET.
  • WR/DB interactions: Real press coverage, defensive pass interference, offensive pass interference, pushing/shoving/holding down the field, face guarding, etc.
  • 5 man gang tackles: Do I need to explain?
  • Goal-line specific animations: Both offensive and defensive players should go all out for that small handful of yards down near the goal-line. QB sneaks shouldn't have the QB running upright. Mybe make the offensive player hold RB to lower his shoulder and cover up the ball to pick up the tough yards, or else, they'll get stuffed.
  • Analog running: Players should be able to walk, jog, sprint, and everything in between. This is crucial to setting up blocks.
  • Realistic running/momentum: Players should accelerate and decelerate realistically. Less "twitchyness" and more of an organic feel. Players should lose their balance if they don't regroup before they make a sharp cut, unless they're named Adrian Peterson or Ladainian Tomlinson. A balance rating should be inserted to determine everything from breaking tackles to stringing moves together without falling on your arse.
  • No more super catches: No one on earth can run in a strait line, then spin around, jump, then catch a football at its highest point, then come down and hurdle a defender, all under 1 second.
  • Timing based passing: Like in APF2k8. QB drobbacks should be synchronized with the WR's routes.
  • A bigger disparity in ratings and lower ratings: Players with 90-plus ratings should be hall of famers in their primes. your average NFL starter should be about a 75. When a player is good at something, you should see it.
  • Put tackling and pass-rush moves on the RS: Make the hit-stick contextual or add a hit-stick modifier. Also add a pass rush move modifier, and make all pass-rush moves intuitive through the RS.
That's all I've got for now.

Re: **Official Madden 2010 Wishlist Thread**

-I would love to have historic teams in Madden 2010.
-Let us use NFL logos and uniforms in create-a-team.
-More catching animations such as this

-Take weather effects even further (fog and the snow having imprints of more than just feet (i.e. also of bodies and the football), raindrops bouncing off the helmets of the players). Also, I think it would be cool to have a cutscene of the guys clearing the yard lines in snow games. I think it would be cool to have varying difficulty with varying weather. The harder it snows/rains, the harder it is to play.
-Have the players interact with the camera. I think that would be a sweet cutscene in Madden.
-lots of gameplay sliders. Lots of options.
-One of the coolest animations I have seen was in All-Pro 2K8 (I'm not even much of a 2K fan) when I ran an INT back for a TD, the guys on the sideline were jumping up and down and running along the sideline with me.

-First-Person View Camera Option (maybe)
-Player-specific commentary (Have the commentators address every player by name. In 09, it sounds really weird to have them just say “This guy” or “This quarterback”, while only saying some players’ names. Please script each players’ name into the game.
-The classic injury sound effect ☺
-make all the kicking the same way onside-kicks are done. That is, to put the cursor on the ball where you want the kicker's foot to make contact with it. This would be the way accuracy was determined. There would be an arrow on kickoffs so you could see where the ball was going depending on the placement of the cursor, just to get used to it. But on field goals and extra points the arrow would not be there so the accuracy would be more challenging. To determine power, I like the idea about timing a button press with the kicker's foot. Another idea for power (for PS3, I'm not sure if Xbox 360 has this) is to utilize the pressure sensitive buttons. Depending on how hard the user presses the button would dictate the power.
-
-Throw while being tackled.
-Stadium Fly-Over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0eRez...eature=related
-Incorporate NFL Films: http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d80690393
-I wish that they wouldn't keep showing the "first down!", sack, field goal good/no good, etc. on jumbotron cutscenes. I think it would be cool if they could put authentic real-time jumbotron animations and make on-field cutscenes such as players waiting in anticipation for the chain measurement, player celebrations for sacks, etc.
-I think it would be cool to have a cutscene of the player who made the play look up at the jumbotron and have his perspective looking at the replay and then have the camera zoom in to the jumbotron and transition into the fullscreen replay.
-Presentation: I think that it could/should go one of 2 ways. Either make a fully TV presentation, or make fully authentic on-field experience which makes you feel like you are one of the players. In my opinion, right now Madden is somewhere in between.
I think if there are already commentators, a on-screen scoreboard, and stat tickers etc. in Madden, which are already part of a TV broadcast, why not go all out with the TV presentation?
Either that, or make it an on-field experience with player chatter, coach instruction in place of the commentary team and a more dynamic camera angle that follows the ball, without the on-screen tickers and stuff and make it as close to being on the field as possible.
A third option--do both, but have two different presentation styles- going all out on both-and give us the option of which one to play a game with. That would be pretty cool (although possibly wishful thinking )
-Jersey pulling
--NFL Network/ESPN In-Game Presentation
-Make use of NFL Network AND ESPN for varied experience- Overlays, background music, multiple studio teams, etc. "EA Sports" represents the networks, while the appropriate games appear on ESPN and NFL Network.
-More emotion from broadcast team
-Pregame-Halftime-Postgame Show
-Weekly highlight show
-Multiple Pre-Game and Post-game sequences- Have a end game Sequence for The Super Bowl, AFC/NFC Championships, Play off Games, Regular Season were A Team Clinches a Playoff spot, A Rivalry Game, After a Blow out, After a underdog victory, Normal Regular season game, Preseason.Super Bowl and Championship games should involve Trophy Presentations, around the championship game random “playoff beards should show up.Have pre Game Sequence for Preseason, Regular season ,Big Regular Season, Late Season Game, Playoffs , AFC/NFC Championships, Super Bowl.
-Deeper challenge system- Ability to dictate what, exactly, is being challenged.
-More interesting sideline characters- Coaches and players running along the sideline on long plays, entire sideline emptying onto the field after the Superbowl
-Crowd Chants- “Defense—Defense” etc.
-lots of catching animations, both two and one handed (I only know of 1 one-handed catch animation in Madden)
-Classic Stadiums- Kaiser Field, The Met Center, Astrodome, etc.
-player personalities and signature animations
-Multiple Pre-game/Post-game sequences accounting for regular season, Post season, Superbowl circumstances
-Options for CAW including Hand Towels, TC equipment, etc.
-More in depth Create-a-player
-In-Game Cutscenes of sidelines, crowds, cheerleaders, etc.
-Real-time Injury animations
-5,6,7, 8 Man Interactions- Fumble pile-ons, larger gang tackles.
-Dynamic Jerseys and helmets flying off-Also, a small post-play animation: If a guy gets his helmet knocked off during the play I would like to see him picking it up and putting it back on.
-Stadium Specific Sounds/Chants
-Player Movement/Intertia physics
-A bobble button-if a ball is over or under thrown, the receiver can reach to try and tip it to himself
-dynamic crowd
-Referees & Chain Gangs on field and more sideline interaction
-Dynamic Weather and lighting
-What I think would be cool, if possible, is to have players and coaches swarm the field after the Super Bowl win.
