Superstar Mode needs to go.....I'm with you. It is sad that year in and year out people say this and for three years running EA keeps putting this in. I'd rather see classic teams, better presentation, more ESPN interface (I mean why did you get a contract with them since you NEVER use ESPN in your games??????), a weekly recap show, all these things would be better in the game than this waste of space that is Superstar mode.

Great article. Too bad it will fall on deaf ears at EA.

I can't stand this game mode, and honestly haven't stepped foot into it since 07.

If they haven't changed it, why waste my time.

They should of made it like '06....the reason to me '07,'08,'09 stinks is that damn camera angle...there is no freakin way you can control a DB let alone cover a TE as a linebacker with the camera angle the way it is...go back to '06 when the same angle you play a regular game is the way you play franchise..i had so much fun that year even got a big contract deal and played 4 seasons but they changed it to be more real..and totally messed it up...i havent even started on the damn training camp..40yd dash and stuff but im with you bro..it does stink.

In Madden NFL 08, I tried out for QB, and at the end of all of my workouts, my overall rating at the QB position was a 12. A 12?! I had a higher rating at WR despite being QB drills (71, if you'll believe it).

However, I did like it in 06... for some reason, Madden is just too bad of a game when only controlling one player. Can we at least choose to control other players? Why do I even want to play QB if half of my plays consist of me handing it off and watching someone else control the RB into a tackle?

Like a lot in Madden, it's past its prime. Go back to Madden NFL 06 Superstar mode and I'll be happy.

I love superstar mode. This is the first year it's working really really well.

I don't know what any of you are talking about.

Yeah Superstar mode needs to go, I thought it was horrible when they first put it in the game, and its still the same now. Ditch it and use that space for something useful.

Re: Madden Superstar Mode an Exercise in Awful

I loved NCAA's campus legend! That is the way to do it! When I got exported to madden and drafted to a team, I've never felt less part of a team than this game. I play a WR. The ball is hardly ever thrown to me even if I'm wide open, and the first read. When I do get thrown to the DB usually jumps 10 yards before the balls destination and knocks it down...it's unrealistic and irritating...special on short 10 yard plays.

The only way to get the ball thrown your way more is to call for the ball all the time (which again is unrealistic), this throws off your timing and your speed, and more often than not makes you miss the pass if it was thrown to you.

It's so disappointing. In NCAA i loved becoming the star/leader of the team. In madden I feel like and outsider they let on the team to draw coverage so they can throw to other players. The games are obviously built on the same engine (if not they have a ton of the same weird animations), so how do you go from so great in NCAA to so terrible in madden. Doesn't matter what your speed is, the DB will stay with you, and will jump just as high as needed not even looking for the ball to knock it down (I was very impressed with NCAA making defenders not go for the ball if they aren't covering you).

Blocking is terrible. Every time I get close to someone they shed their block and tackle you. What is the point of a hole being created on a return, if the blockers just pop off of as soon as you run by? Not only do they pop off their blocker, but they match your speed instantly from behind (from a dead blocking stop), and chase you down and tackle you.

Check down to the HB/FB & they run backwards for 5 yard, or they simply run out of bounds with plenty of room to spare. What a disappointment

Big fat Kudos to NCAA for making strides in their game this year....i'll leave it at that.
