That wont happen

Lets see what we as a community can figure out how to adjust the game. Give Ian some help, he asked what did he think he would NOT modify with the sliders as is. I listed a couple, are there other? Like Pared said, some we cant directly adjust the CPU, we adjust our sliders and in turn it effects how CPU plays

Ian's post outlines the new sliders. The whole structure is new.

I think it's quite possible we may be able to achieve decent sim gameplay against the CPU in 09.....we just may not have much control doing it. It's going to rely HEAVILY on how well the gameplay is coded AI wise from an overall sense.

I'm not being too critical so far, because the sliders that were there last year weren't that effective anyway.

It's been more frustrating in NCAA since the sliders actually have a good amount of variance to them. I was hoping to see this fixed in Madden but alas... no sliders at all.

I just want a way to be able to modify the CPU. They have never felt "realistic" out of the box but things could be tweaked to get a better game out of them.

Asking for things we would like to see addressable when we don't even have the game though... that's a bit much, don't you think?

To be fair, this should be an issue head to head, right? From the demo, our QB is not pin-point perfect... the issue is the CPU and what "potentially" could be wrong.

And we don't know that not having played the game.

I just hope to God that EA doesn't try to implement this new slider system into NCAA Football 10 next year. Hopefully they have realized their mistake with it already and are already working on next year's Madden with the old sliders back in it.

Computer gameplay has always been bad out of box of any Madden and NCAA games. I'm still trying to find a way to get a realistic passing game in NCAA, ala NCAA 05.

Re: More info on CPU Sliders (from EA)

Ian, thanks for taking the time to post some info on the sliders.

I do have a question re: Qb Accuracy.

Can you explain how that slider affects the actual accuracy in game terms? I lower that slider nearly to zero and I don't see very much difference in accuracy as far as ball placement is concerned. Derek Anderson is still zipping passes all over the field against Pittsburgh.

Every pass I throw, even with that slider set very low, seems to be on the money and is either batted away, dropped, caught, or picked. I see very few overthrows, underthrows or throws that are simply off target, which is what I would assume lowering an Accuracy slider would add. When I throw deep I see a difference (mainly that I can't throw it more than 40 yards)

I understand that the slider drops (or raises) the QB Acc rating, but what does that actually do? This is a question I have had about Madden since the game added sliders many years ago, and I was hoping you could shed some additional light on this.

That's why people were upset there were no CPU sliders....

Bueller... Bueller...

Bill,

That slider has always had an effect on Arm Strength, not accuracy, from what I've seen. Physics of throws alter from that slider.

Re: More info on CPU Sliders (from EA)

Ian, thanks for the info. I am feeling a little better about things now. I guess the only thing we can do is see how it goes this year.
My primary concerns are when it comes to slider gameplay slider adjustments are with the CPU QB either throwing high completion % or too many ints, and the CPU run game being too weak. Hopefully, I or some of the slider guru's can come up with something to help in those areas.

Re: More info on CPU Sliders (from EA)

So there are no new sliders. The same old sliders are just structured differently? But with no way to change cpu offensive sliders?
