This is all pretty pointless, they have no reason to care, it's still gonna sell like hot cakes. As long as EA has zero competition, they won't have any reason to put out an outstanding product, instead they will always aim for passable.

so making the int slider 0 would make it harder for humans to get INTs on defense correct? On the other side this slider will have NO affect on the CPU defense right?

Well at least some human issues can be taken care of, if the sliders actually work. In the demo, there are way too many wide open passes being dropped which leads to the delected pass interception animation way too often. But for some cpu issues, looks like we are SOL. I was really looking forward to buying this game day one but now I have to wait for the user reviews to come in.

Good luck fellas. I don't have the patience for it anymore. Tailoring a football video game shouldn't require you to go through hoops and stand on one leg while keeping both pointer fingers in the air.

The basketball video games can't come fast enough.
As Smokey Robinson said, "I second that Emotion".

Is it so hard for a company that has been making these games for years and years to just get over itself and realize it's not good at shipping a game that plays properly out of the box? Not that many if any sports games made by other companies do function properly out of the box. Tons of sliders (that work) fix that for the people who care. A lack of them just leads to incredible frustration when the numbers don't look right. More control and more customization please.

I don't think so. Ian and Phil took a beating for 3 hours last night. They definitely would have told us to relax b/c they had it covered. We didn't hear any such thing.

Can you add CPU sliders in a patch? And if so, will you do so? Thanks for your information. I appreciate you addressing this issue.

Re: More info on CPU Sliders (from EA)

As long as each level shows a dramastic difference in CPU play what is the big fuss about?

The way I see it is that no matter what is wrong with the gameplay there will be a effective way of countering it by either lowering/raising the level mixed with lowering/raising the Hum sliders.

Now this theory wont work if there is not a difference between levels. But lets just say you play Rex Grossman on all 4 levels. Im assuming he wont be Robo qb on the lower levels. So make sure your Pass Defense is set to that low level by either manually setting it or just failing that part in the tests.

I will garantee that NJPapi(MM member) (will have a very playable slider set out the day of madden or the next day)

Ian,
Thanks for all the posts. The sliders are making more sense as you explain them. I'll admit I haven't been EA's biggest supporter (see sig) in recent years, but I try and reserve judgement on any game until I actually have it in my possession. There's no real way to know how the game will play FOR YOU until you, in fact, play the game.

All of this right now is mere speculation. I'm going to get the game (probably rent first) and play the heck out of it and see what I come up with from that.

You just CAN'T go wrong giving the user more options. Even the "great" NFL 2K5 is broken out of the box, but they had a pretty good set of sliders to really help, and separated Human and CPU. Did it make the game perfect? Not in my opinion, but it sure helped.
