You're right that was two years ago. WOW time flies. Anyway, not everyone is going to like a game and some will just complain about anything. I for one didn't really care about that sort of thing. I play more online and vs than against the cpu but, I can see where someone would get upet at this sort stuff.

I may have to go earlier this year. I went last year at 11 pm and I ended up like 50th in line. I didn't get home until 1 am. My girl was MAAAADDD! Oh well it's football season. She'll get over it.

Now that is exactly what you SHOULDNT do. No need for personal attacks. Ian works for EA so his loyalty is to them first. He isnt going to do anything that affects their sales or his job. I just wish would have been more upfront AND had a reason for why they removed the sliders.

I understand your frustration, and see your point. However, you really don't know that is why EA had the demo set up that way. In my opinion, they wanted to tout the Adaptive AI thing, and the Madden moments. If they were really wanting to hide things, they could have just not released a demo at all (like they didn't release demos for some games in the past).

I do agree that getting to the NFL and convincing them that competition is good for the NFL videogames would be a great idea, and I certainly would be part of a movement. In all fairness, EAs Madden isn't all bad, but I do believe it was better when 2K was competing with them. Some of the best Maddens and 2K games were when they were trying real hard to get the market share.

I don't think sliders will be added to control the CPU settings. Just think it was a design decision and meant to be more reflective of the Adaptive AI. Could be wrong, though.

This is a blatant, 100% BLATANT situation of covering up negatives of the game, preferring to focus on all the things that he believes we would like. When exactly were you going to break it to us? Apparently AFTER one of us had the full game in our hands and discovered it for ourselves is the answer. Great.

And turning the INT slider down to 0, and not disclosing that before hand, that is embarrassing, period. You were concerned about people seeing INT's in the game, so you just figure adjusting the game to where they never happen is the answer?

You know the fact that there aren't CPU sliders in the game isn't what is turning me away, but your embarrassing, horrible answer to this situation is what is. There is absolutely zero explanation and excuse for what you said there and your development team should be humiliated at treating your most loyal, rabid customers in this way.

It's all good and well that you guys make your money every year on people who don't give a crap about sliders, realism, or anything like that. Great. But for you to be intentionally deceiving to the people who care more about the quality of this game than anyone else is beyond comprehension.

You can all get pissed at me for yelling at this guy because you just want to kiss their butts all the time, I really don't care. Mod me, give me an "infraction" for being honest. Do what you've gotta do. But at some point we need to freaking stand up to these people and tell them what we REALLY feel rather than walking on egg shells being afraid that we're going to offend someone who is (apparently) coming here for honest feedback and criticism. And to have this guy knowingly deceive us in what features were out of the game, how the game was being manipulated when demoed, is like I said, embarrassing.

You can all do whatever you want, say whatever you want. Doesn't effect my life in any way. But after reading that post, and understanding that all these guys wanted to talk about were things they think we would like, rather than breaking unfortunate news to us when it came up, is the end for me. If I ever own an EA Sports game again, it won't be from a retail store. It'll either be from Ebay, or Craigslist, where you guys won't see a penny of it. I'm done. Every body has their breaking point, and this thread was mine. I know it means nothing, I'm just one guy in the millions of copies you'll sell of Madden 09. But my values are more important to me than they'll ever be to anyone else, and that's all that matters.

Agreed. Madden isn't what Gamebreaker was in its last days ("I can see my breath! What do you mean it's 65 degrees outside?"), but competition helps everyone. That's meant as much for EA as it was for Take Two's juvenile response in baseball. And the NFL cares little about market share, since they're getting their money either way.
