New and More Sliders!!

Well I know I don't have much influence on the world, but if I don't purchase this game it only cost EA $60 of revenue. If I unfluence my brothers and few friends(maybe 5) then that list may move to $300. If each of them influence 5 friends than that moves to like $1500. This may not sound like much but if the cycle continues then is gets greater if 100 unhappy gamers save $60, which cost EA $6000 in revenue, and each has convinces 5 friends then that $6000 suddenly turns to $30000. It amy sound like chump change to EA, but what if that number hits 500 people telling 5 friends ($150,000). Wow, after looking at the money and what EA paid for exclusive titles I believe they don't care, a loss of 1,000 unhappy gamers is no big deal because they will still reap huge rewards because they will sell millions. I appreciate that The future was able to make small changes to fix suction blocking and others to fix stats, but those are not game saving changes. The lack of CPU sliders is a game altering change and will affect a purchase decision. I'll admit I was going to buy this game, but I saw APF2K8 used at gamestop for $12 bucks so I may try that game just so I can play with Montana and Rice, just like I used to in Madden of old.

I think we might be willing to say something like that once we know more. I figured it was better to just give what I knew when I knew it - that there were no CPU sliders. I got a PM from adem telling me to look at the thread, and given all the speculation I figured what the hell - I want to get no sleep tonight and be pissed off all weekend - I'll jump in the lion's den and take the heat.

Anyway maybe there's something else we don't know that will put this all to bed...but maybe there won't be and we'll take it from there.

The sheer number of MAJOR issues with everything EA Football has been flat out unforgivable.

1. Every major feature of NCAA broken at launch..EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
2. Major Gameplay issues on NCAA with no way to remedy due to BROKEN sliders.
3. Sliders REMOVED from Madden, thereby taking away any ability of the Human to customize his computer opponent to his tastes.

And yet, the EA guys act as though THEY are the Victims?

This isn't a direct attack, but the Entire EA team deserves every bit of venom and criticism spewed their way right now. That's a fact.

And as pjv points out....it's almost as though they don't care.

Whatever, my point remains. I would consider anyone working on the game this high up the chain to be at least a Madden enthusiast if not an NFL-realism enthusiast, and slider work is almost at the top of the list of what effects gameplay for someone like this. I can't get my head around someone working on Madden as a whole (i.e. not just a game artist or something, but a producer) not checking out sliders at all during the whole development, and not having CPU settings would stick out like a sore thumb - it has been in Madden for, what, 10 years now? I've got friends here in Australia who only just started playing with little interest in the NFL who called me up wanting a good slider set for them after they grabbed 08. How could anyone actually working on the game not be interested in some slider adjustments when playing themselves?

Unless of course 09 is just that good it doesn't need them. This isn't a game killer.....yet. But I'm not prepared to pay retail to find out, either.

I think its important to understand our "whining" and "complaining". This is our only chance to speak to anyone from EA at any point in time. We, while not financially, are just as invested in this game as the dev team. Most of us WANT this game to be great, we hope that its perfect and want to be playing it for the next 6 months. Sure, there are those that just want EA to fail, but personally, for me, i WANT this game to be awesome. Hearing news like this is contrary to what i want obviously, hence the reaction. Its no ill will or hatred, its sheer disappointment and let down. Its a video game, sure, but we still are invested in it.
