New and More Sliders!!

not having sliders in sports games in the past is one thing. But to give them to us for all these years and let us get used to having them and tweaking the game to our personal preference, then all of a sudden to take them away without giving a reasonable explanation is a totally different thing. If someone can give me a reason why they were taken away then atleast I could understand, most likely wont agree but hopefully understand

Just think, three weeks ago, people were worried about how big the star was on the Cowboys helmet. Thanks Ian, I have now forgotten all about head tracking, chaingangs and on field refs.

Let me put it to you this way. It doesn't bother me as much as you guys. The only thing that truly bothers me in NCAA is the kickoff coverage and the scoring drive summary after field goals are screwed up. I'm not trying to stir the pot here and appreciate why many of you are upset. In my old age I'm just saying it's not a big deal to me. There was a time when there were no sliders at all and that did not affect my enjoyment. At least you guys know ahead of time to not purchase it.

Thanks for not pointing fingers, but I assure you I did not know of this until just recently. I don't know who "they" is, but obviously the 09 team knew of this decision. I'll be working with Phil to dig deeper and see if we can get a better explanation for you guys.

You do realize that out of the box the game carries serious issues as reported by people who already own the game? You do realize that there is now very little you can do to help reduce these issues. This isn't a normal year where the game was playable on default and than perfected through sliders. At least that is the strong impression I am getting from reputable people who have the game like Abner.

First off I'll repost my questions

1. Any chance the lack of AI sliders is because of the new mode where the AI adjusts to your play style.

2. I don't expect an honest answer to this question but why is it that companies keep trying to add all these new fetuers when the core game itself is sub par to games that were released last gen. Yes im talking about madden but really its 75% of next gen games as a whole.

The second question is in no way a knock on your game or the madden franchise. But just a general question that I feel needs to be adressed at one point by someone who has a hand in this games.

This is not meant to defend EA or any developer but if a company were to make the game we all want aka so real that we can't tell the difference between sunday and the game we are playing would it really be fun?

With that said it still doesnt excuse the lack of solid gameplay out of the box and lack of options from last gen.

Gah, well I guess it's Madden 08 PC for me for another year. Unless the game truly doesn't need slider tweaking, which I doubt, then 09 just isn't viable for me.

What's the point in having human sliders but no CPU sliders? I have never seen that in a video game, ever. It's completely pointless. It's amazing but it really isn't that huge a surprise. I said before in the "are you concerned" thread I wouldn't be shocked if Madden 09 is somehow lacking a serious aspect to gameplay and I remain pretty much the same - not shocked. It was almost expected there would be some major disappointment honestly. Unfortunately it seems to be a pattern with EA. The joke yearly is "add something pointless, remove something useful" but it's beyond a joke now - it's reality.
