Penalty frequency is pretty hard to get right. How do you convince the player that something he had no control of(cpu O or D lineman jumping off sides when P1 is the FS)is tuned realistically? As long as the sliders will let us fine tune it, it should be fine.

Good Stuff:

1. Running control
2. Defensive line more active at jumping to bat down passes
3. On the field bluff mode
4. Lighting effects/grass texures
5. Subs at the playcall menu

Needs Improvement:
1. Some animations do not look natural.

I watched the first two videos and noticed ZERO penalties.

Would have liked to have seen the 2nd half but neither video is available. Is it possible to get them back up and going?

The good
1. The play calling screen layout and various options to call your plays are nice.
2. Graphics are improved
3. Game speed is nice
4. On the Field options for both Offense and Defense (Hot routes and audibles)


Needs improvement
1.Animations need to be smoother and need alot more to reflect hits from certain angles, or when gang tackling is involved. I would go with animation and physics that can involve as many as 3 players making a hit from different angles on one player and seeing the body of the player being tackled move in the proper directions. I would also like to see better Run routing animations, with positive and negative effects. Like a receiver loosing his footing coming out of a break , and other times looks sweet. Qb animations also but you now this already.

2.Sorry Ian but you may need to make a poll on this. Actually I will, but Collinsworth is bad and very annoying to listen too. Commentary is stale and lifeless. It doesnt always have to be someone who is famous. Anyone with life and excitement, and tells jokes in the both would be great. Commentators that relfect tons of personality.

3.Player Models are off. It looks like to me that thier torso is to small for thier arms and legs. Go back to the last gen demensions that were used in making the players and use those calculations if possible. The last gen players look perfect.

4.No on field after the play animations that bring more personality to the game. The ones presesnt now are fast and right back to the huddle. Add them like they are in the NFL game and for those that want to run back to the huddle can just hit the a or x button to do so, but when they do that have the on field actions go into a small screen so its a smooth transition while your on the play calling screen.

5.The lack of having your DB play inside or outside of the WR. That was on last gen, and is needed and helpful in playing defense. This also is something that can burn you at the sametime so it was nice to use from time to time.

6.Graphics need some tiny work nothing major. The grass on the field needs to look thinner. The grains of grass look way to thick. I would also add signs and towels to the fans. The Graphics you can definetly build from.

If some of this has been mentioned before thats fine I guess what ever EA sees the most of are the things they will focus on the most.

Why this thread was reborn I don't know but all I can say is dude gets it! I think this is why I have hope for the Madden franchise.

Lol dw Ian. I think you meant cough*hammond*cough.

Collinsworth does,did and will continue to rock.

Many times though, receivers will not trigger a catch animation.

Other things needed for improvement are spot on. But head tracking, is so important. If you're covering a db, and a pass is thrown and you're not looking, i'll be damned to see a person turn, react, intercept all in one motion.

Normally when you lose sight of the qb and sprinting to cover a receiver, the best you could do is put up your hands and lay a big hit. You aint gonna spin and intercept.

And Ian thought of this 6 months ago.

Madden 2010 is heading on the right track.
