Full game w/ EA Designers (Colts vs. Vikings)

Graphics look nice, Collinsworth seems good and the camera before th kickoff was nice.

The play by play guy is awful. Extremely boring and just sounds like a robot.

After watching the whole game, here are my impressions as far as positives and negatives go:

Positives:
The outside of the stadium shot looks great

Post Play Animations-They don't look dead after every play. Either something is helping someone up, or they are celebrating.

Many stat screens, along with lineup graphics

Announcing-Sounds very fluid

I loved the stutter step the returner used on the first punt return

Gang Tackling looks great ( when its smooth)

End of the Quarter stats-It used to be a view of the jumbo-tron saying end of quarter

Field Goal Nets

Being able to move out of an animation 2nd quarter (2:24) Peterson was wrapped up, but he juked out of it.

3rd Quarter (20 seconds left) A great new hit stick animation

Post game report with key plays

Negatives:
No close up of the players running out of the team helmet

Some Gang tackles don't look smooth

Random Jumping over players on the ground (I don't think its very realistic)

Camera flashes probably shouldn't go off during the play. I have been to 10 Football games..When the play starts, people with cameras put them to the side.

2nd Quarter (4:19) The Animation is odd. Peterson goes from full speed, to stopped in a heart beat. The defender grabs his side and Peterson stops.
Obviously that would never happen in real life.

The spin move needs to be toned down.

The fans didn't even sound excited for the touchdown pass at the end of the half.

Sideline does not react to the sideline tackle ( 8 seconds left in half). They just stand there likes zombies.

At the end of the half Peterson ran right up the middle and hit some people, but was not affected by it.

3rd Quarter (4:17) What in the world was up with that lob pass..It hung up there way to long.

3rd Quarter (2:20) It bothers me that a defender is right in front of Petersons face..And all he has to do is go right and he flies away..He isn't even planting his foot.

4th Quarter (2:42) Jackson backing up and going forward (sideways) is way to fast

Overall:
I am happy to see that the game looks like a good time, and it looks a lot better than 08. I am nervous about the sudden jetpacking when a defender steps in front of Peterson. There were plenty of times when a player was about to be tackled and all you had to do was run one direction and he would literally take off and leave the guy in the dust..And on those plays they weren't even planting there foot. If they had to, they probably would of gotten caught. Also it does bother me on that one play where Peterson ran up the middle and was hitting his O-lineman, but wasn't affected. Also the little things, the crowd is crowded..but does not good when they clap like mindless zombies. And the crowd reaction-Just isn't like it is in real life. I have been to Soldier Field when Devin Hester score..It blows up. I guarantee it sounds louder in the Vikings dome.

I know this sounds negative, but its really not..The game is lightyears ahead of what we had in 08. I just hope some of these things can be fixed before shipment.

1. loved the momentum system on the tackles.
2. gang tackling is 100 times better since the first packers video
3. Ian really showed off the ability to break out of any tackle.
4. loved that dropped pass by dallas clark need more of those type of animation.

1. presentation need more cut scenes like T.V broadcast
2. pre-game, halftime, post game show.
3. gameplay needs to slow down just a little bit.
4. D-line and O-Line play, like the USC nike camp video i posted
4. DB and WR interaction like 2k8
5. how come there was no replays - does that have to do with the hardcore mode. if it does what mode would give the best T.V. presentation feel??

I really think the gameplay on the field is back where it should be. Looks like we have control again of the players and everything looks very solid. My only thought is the usual complaint of production values. The presentation is awful and needs a TV production overhaul bad. Please give us a TV style presentation similar to the 2K series next year with player close ups, stat overlays, etc. Hammonds does sound like the robot from the old Sport Talk football games, but it is much better than the radio announcer. I just do not feel the excitement from the crowd, announcers, and from the game itself. Fix that and this will be the best football game ever.

I feel you guys have did a great job in the time you had with the game this year and the outreach to us has made me a believer in the development teams at EA again. I cannot wait to play 09 for a change and really look forward to the versions after if you guys keep this up.

Yessir!!!!!! A COLTS vid. I havn't watched the vids yet, post my impressions in a bit.

The game looks great.

1. graphics are better
2. tackling looks great as well
3. being able to break out of an animation is sweet.


Negatives
1. Commentary. On the first drive Colllinsworth says that the defense barely had a chance to get some water before going back out there. They weren't even on the field yet, it was the first drive.
2. There is a lot of camera flashes, and at weird times i think. I am not sure how many people take pictures of an extra point attempt.

keeping this simple...

PROS:

1. no radio guy
2. smooth animations very seamless
3. player models are more to their real life counterparts
4. crowd reaction seems to be on point
5. break tackle animations looked good

CONS:

1. OL/DL interactions doesnt give me the feel of a mini battle in the trenches
2. need more variety in tackle animations both gang and single
3. seems a bit too speedy/ just watching the guard pull looked fast for me
4. just me but i dont like how injuries are done. would be better done in real time just showing the player carried off the field and i like finding out what the injury is later on in the game (2k does a great job at this)

WOW!!!! That was pretty. Let me first say that I feel for Dallas Clark. Poor guys is always taking big shots. I swear I jumped out of my chair on that hit and my wife laughed her *** off. I love the ability to nail dudes even after they drop the ball or before they even catch it.

The good

-Graphics/lighting/player models look amazing
-Muffed return's do to low rating ( Addia is not a punt returner)
-The tackling looks so polished and smooth now for the most
part. I love that there was not hitstick after hitstick tackles.
-Much more gangtackling
-did I see a viking helping up a colt defender lol (nice little touch)
- the pocket looks better/ did I hear the announcer say " he stepped up into the pockett" when Jackson stepped up (awesome)
- De's played pretty well, I even seen Mathis get upfield a few times. He was cause havic all game to that RT.
- De played contain well a few time (not as much as I would like)
- the fight for yardage looks great. In one instance AP had Freeny on his back fighting for a few extra yards.
- the overthrow was nice seeing Jackson has terrible accuracy.
- Collinsworth rocks
- the run animations look sick

Needs working

- more emotion on big plays. Hammonds had more emotion on the muffed punt return than on the first TD.

- there was a play action that Jackson did where he turned akward in the wrong direction and then turned and passed.

- De/OL needs working (but it is better than last years all day)

- On the challedged catch in the 4th qrt bob sanders went for the ball and magically turned opposite directions making the tackle. Weird little warp.

Final thoughts:

I am extremly pumped for this game. For all the people who say they have not done anything to this game , after watching these and you continue to say it your officially delusional. The game looks great and I cannot wait.
