Ha - great vids. We can't allow players to keep running after their helmet gets knocked off (as per the NFL), but we are definitely looking into ways to get those helmets off on hits or in piles or whatever.

Thanks for the quick reply. That kind of stinks. I thought since this happens in games, i thought they would allow it but i understand. Maybe the helmet can come off on very hard hits or maybe when a QB gets sacked hard from behind.
Since Anim8or said there is going to be a lot of new interactions between players (helping each other up, pushing) is there a chance we see something like after a hit, a teammate comes over and fixes the tackler's pads or something. something minor that could be kind of cool sometimes during the end of plays.

Instead of looking at it as criticism, Ian, you guys should be looking at it as the customers telling you what they want. Don't let my moniker fool you. I adopted it at the heat of the 2K vs. EA NFL competition, but that doesn't mean I'm on here just criticizing. I want Madden to be a game I can play all year long. I've owned Madden 98, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008, so obviously I like the game, but come on, how many years have people been crying out for interesting presentation? Why do we always wind up saying "well, maybe next year"?

Everything seems to run alittle too fast. Other than that it looks good. Maybe alittle too simple to complete passes.

Not trying to sound like a jerk, but I think I know what you want in this instance - better presentation. The last 100+ posts all say that as well - lack of emotion, immersion, believability, etc. And they have no problem talking about the things that they actually did like and seemed like steps in the right direction.

What I don't know is what actually stands out for you - what features we've done right which helps me balance feature decisions for the future. If no one even noticed the left-stick stutter-steps then we'd learn that maybe we shouldn't have put focus on it and find ways to revamp it for next year, but instead a ton of people love it so now we just look for ways to improve on it. If no one noticed the help-ups then we probably shouldn't have spent time on it.

If you don't want to provide the positives, then by all means, don't.

I posted a similar thing on MM to a question like this...what answer could I possibly give for this to satisfy this question? There probably isn't one.
Just know that Better presentation was a big priority for 09 - new cameras, new commentators, new pre-game, all new stat-banner system, etc - and will continue to be a high priority for 2010.

The presentation is A LOT better overall, last year the player intros were cool, they were skipped in the video how do they compare this year?

Regarding presentation... played a game of 2k8 last night with the SPECIFIC aim of picking out what it was that seperated it... and it's pretty easy.

It's not announcers, it's not overlays, it CERTAINLY isn't the poorly acted player voice overs, it's not graphics, animations, it's NONE Of that...

The single most important aspect of 2k presentation; Crowd noise. The crowd sounds into it. I was playing as my created 3-0 Phoenix Firebirds, going into a big game with the also undefeated Dallas Gunslingers, and the Dalllas crowd was clearly on my *** from the beginning. They felt absolutely hostile. I remember getting on a role in the 2nd quarter, walking down the field in a very Joe Montana like 12 play 94 yard drive. By the time I hit the endzone, it was crickets... but when Dallas answered back with a 57 yard touchdown pass, my living room rumbled.

The crowd in 2k sports becomes a part of your thinking. When you're at home, you revel in it. On the road, you want to shut them up.

You made some presentation upgrades, but I think you underestimated the crowd noise part of the puzzle.

2k8s crowds aren't perfect, it can be done better.

2 things can make Madden's presentation great... just two changes.

1- Get Hammond in there to rerecord big plays. Yes, he's a bit dead all over, but if he can at least get the big plays with some feeling, he'll be fine.

2- Crowd noise. Match or exceed 2k8's crowd noise in terms of reactions, variety, and feel. get the pitch right, get the chants in there, get the bass of the stomping in there, make it the dominant sound in the game. Make stepping out into Arrowhead FEEL like stepping into Arrowhead. I promise you, 99% of the presentation complaints will stop dead.

Is this the final product or can any of these complaints be fixed or changed before the release date.......speed control ,presentation,atmosphere,commentary. because if not GAMEPLAY i hope will be the best its ever been.thats the only way people will forget about these flaws
