Fellas I have been on this site for a very long time, probably longer than most here and I can say without a doubt in my mind that as a whole most of us think alike when it comes to sport games, AND TO THE EA GUY, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU!

Hi,

EA producer, can you guys please add realistic momentum/player cuts to the game, along with realistic QB mechanics?

These are things that NFL 2k5 had, but EA still has yet to produce. Us true football fans would also like to see realistic route running (as seen in APF 2k8).

The icing on the cake would finally be realistic X's and O's within the trenches. For example, 3-4 NT being aligned in the proper gap and demanding multiple blockers in order to free the LBs. Things of that nature.

I'm not here to bash, but to provide accurate and fair criticism in hopes that Madden finally becomes the game that true football fans can cherish. It saddens me to see that 2k with less resources has delivered a more realistic product that is going on 4 years old now.

Thanks for reading and good luck to you guys. I really want to play NFL football again. But, I can only come back to Madden if the game is a realistic and sim experience.

Yeah I read through his posts a bit, I do see that some people have brought up the issues with 1 gap or 2 gap defenses. Ian stated that those were good ideas, so I'm assuming that they won't be in this years title, and it's probably too late to work those things in?

Oh well.. I'll be holding off on Madden this year, gameplay wise I just don't see what has changed since 06 (the last one I bought).

On another note, does EA employ or have former NFL players come in to offer suggestions on the game? With as popular as Madden is among players they should have a great resource pool for information there.

The fan/developer interaction is a great thing to see. This process alone will probably get me to buy Madden this year. I'm a die hard 2K Football fan, but I need some NFL teams/players this year, and I'm glad the fans have more direct input now (hopefully moving into the future also). Great job Madden team.

Wow, I am excited to see fan/developer interaction, I never thought it would happen with this particular game. And it's nice to see someone has a real interest in making Madden good again.

I think it's really great that Ian has lead this charge (and hope he doesn't mind me posting, if you do just come over to my desk and rough me up... Ian Cummings is our office linebacker). Without Ian's support my blogs may have not made it online (and I would not have gotten the feedback from the community that we have already been acting on for 09 with regards to rain and snow). I think that the "new brass" is seeing the light with communicating out and having consumers and fans (even anti-fans) help us prioritize.

The consistency and response of new tackling engine is something you really have to feel to appreciate. Something I haven't seen Ian respond to is a post about having to get there first and be there when tackles start. It is an add-on system so you are not out of the play when a tackle starts, you can still come in and tackle (and with Ryan's fix yesterday that is even better). You are not even out of the play when you tackle... I was playing Bailey last week, and stuffed him at the goal line with a tackle then switched and added-on myself to stop him (he then beat my Skins by 36 I believe, but I still say it was the play of the game).
