Not that we know of. That would be sweet though.

I asked that question and have been for the last 5 years. I dont think I got an answer though. That must mean half sacks are not added either.

Re: Gang Tackling Challenge Response (from Ian Cummings)

This one thread has made me excited about Madden for the first time in half a decade. I'm not going to rush out and buy it, and I don't expect this year's version to be anything spectacular, but it's good to get a look at the mindset of the people actually working on the game and know that at least some of them have aims that are in line with a lot of fans who feel left out.

Looks nice.

Really good to see someone like Ian stop by and post with us. Wish we could get a NCAA guy or two in those forums as well.

I think this is pretty awesome. One of the most critically acclaimed games (receives heavy praise and criticism) has one of the producers on here interacting with us. We cant ever claim they dont listen to us. Now does that mean that they will get everything right and fix everything? No....there isnt a perfect game out there, but at least they are taking time to see what we as a community want to see fixed, or want in there.

Huge kudos to you Ian, and your team. This is awesome. I like the direction we are heading, lets keep it moving that way.

Ian

Is the shoulder dekes going to throw off CPU defenders OR is mainly going to be useful for head 2 head or online play?

Meaning, if I am 1 on 1 with a CPU defender and I shoulder deke left will they have the chance to bite on it and you shake right putting them at a unfavorable angle?

I love the idea, just trying to get a bearing on how it will be used against a CPU that KNOWS what we are doing.

Also you stated angles will play a much bigger role this year. So are more arm tackles in this year?

Thanks bro

Well no one knows what you are thinking so we have to go based on the words of you post. If I were Ian, I certainly would have taken offense with your post. Guy exposes himself here and what does he get... "you need to be fired and let the "real" game developers make madden". Talk about a kick in the nads.

I personally appreciate the level of interaction Ian has provided. Am I sold on Madden 09... not by a long shot but if this type of interaction leads to continued in game improvements, I may be sold on Madden 10.

Re: Gang Tackling Challenge Response (from Ian Cummings)

My question to Ian would be this....have you ever considered mo-capping more than one running animation and accurate throwing animations?

Currently one of the problems with Madden is that all the players essentially run the same, the run animation just plays at a different speed for different players. This makes the game look silly when you have 3 or 4 guys trying to chase a guy down from behind or really more than one guy running beside another at any point. The players all tend to run in step and look robotic because they all have the same animation. If you mo-capped a dozen running styles, it would really help with the look of the game a ton.

Same goes for the passing animations. Having accurate passing animations would be a huge boost to Madden. Think of baseball games and how they recreate all the batting stances of hitters and pitching deliveries of pitchers. That adds so much to the game. Having a QB with his accurate passing animation would be great. Extending this to RBs/WRs/etc. would be even better.

Also, did you fix the issue of simmed CPU games giving players 2 INTs for every 1 in the game? This was a huge issue in franchise play for me.

I see your point. It was more so geared toward giving 2K sports their just due pat on the back for such a grrrrrreat job. Now, your biggest competitor (former) is looking at your product for answers. My error in judgement.
