Yes, I currently feel that way. Though it'd make life easier for animators, it would also mean that we would basically would lose all visual "control" over our game. This also means that life turns into a nightmare for engineers.

The big bonus for something like NaturalMotion is a lot of variety without canned animations. But what good is variety if the variety doesn't look real? That's why I'm really curious to see what Backbreaker can do...to see if they can solve the "dead body" issues. I can't wait to see what they come up with personally.

ok, some things are better left unsaid. And if you don't know, this would be one of those things.

Why so long for the improvements? Your comparing a 2004 game on the original Xbox to a 2008 game on the next gen system. Slacking is an understatement. Are you feeling heat from what Backbreaker could POSSIBLE do?
Last years game had all kinds of flaws, so I dont think this years competition or last years (All Pro Football) really has an effect on them.

Part of the deal is that blitz patterns HAVE to be available to start. Here was my version of basically the same thing that I posted on MM:

If it ain't mandatory, it's a restriction you're likely to skip.

Maybe this... at the snap, the only players who's icon are showing are designated blitz routes and dump off routes. As the play progresses, the icons appear in the designated order... primary receiver first, secondary second, etc.. The lower the QBs awareness, the slower the progression. You'd always have those dump offs if necessary, but having a low awareness would hurt you. It'd be advisable to make AWR your primary concern when hunting for a QB.

Optional thing of course, this would be way too restrictive for most players. Not sure if I'd use it, just throwing it out there off the top of my head to get creative juices flowing.

This is beyond necessary, third year on the next gen, and this stuff is finally coming to light. I didn't ask this first year on the next gen. I didn't ask about last years game. It was time to ask!!

But, when the game hit the street you rarely witnessed gang tackling and the animation for the pancake style tackles were terrible. Ian will this happen again? So far the previous Vids of 09 do not show off the tackling you displayed in the vids. (pretty much the same as 08 in some respects).

Am I to assume the programming logic has the gang tackling frequency very low like 08?? The short Vids of two to three gang tackles was also done for 08. So WOW me by showing actual game footage (a full quarter) that displays your gang tackle enhancement and also the new animation. 2k5 had gang tackling thru out the gameplay and a very next gen animation. So put your dukes up and lets see if this is the BEST of 09 gang tackling like the BEST of 08 gang tackling vid. But when the game ships and we have it in hand we are all confused and let down!!

Thanks
Yeah that's what I'm hoping to do tomorrow - not show highlights of the best clips, but just show a bunch of plays in a row with no editing. That to me is the true test of whether I've achieved what I promised.

im thinking EA was being run like a monster coorperation ( they are), the programers were bound by top brass with money and dates being the bottom line. seems like now things may be changing and their programers are beeing given the freedom to try and give us what we have been asking for. just let it go and appreciate the efforts being made now
JMO tho-
