Re: NFL Simulation Sliders 1.0 from Valdarez (tuned for Slow Gameplay)

Just played a game and had good results. I was the Bucs, playing against the Cowboys. I don't have any stats, but it was good gameplay. I went up 10-0 in the 2nd only to have them go up 14-10 halfway through the 3rd on a 70 yard pass to Roy Williams (because I could not tackle, literally we just avoided 3 guys running down the field [100% my fault]). The Cadillac gets his second score from the 2 to put me up by 3. Later, Kevin Ogletree gets open, makes a man miss and walks into the endzone from the 28 with 1:30 left, again poor tackling, my fault.

So at this point, I'm thinking I'm going to lose after being up the whole game (very realistic IMO). But I get a pass interference call on a 4th and 10. Two incompletions and it's now 3rd. I send Kellen Winslow on a flag route and once I see him break behind the LB, he's gone- 57 yards to the house. I took a 3 point lead with 0:30 seconds to go. Dallas gets to my 40, I play prevent D, only rush 3. He has all day and finds Tashard Choice on a comeback, he catches it at the goalline, but his momentum takes him to the 2 where he gets tackled, and the clock runs out.

Good game. I threw 2 picks, one I forced because I was about to get sacked and the other is because I got hit. Not complaining, I'm actually applauding here. I pick off Romo once (maybe twice) while sacking him 4 times [with the Bucs now pathetic d-line]. On the other hand, I was sacked at least 4 times as well. All my sacks were in the 1st half, they had 2 in each.

Cadillac went 10 carries for 58 yards in the first, but ended up with 20 carries for 67 yards BUT 2 TDs!!! I thought it was a little to easy to score, especially with the worst rated O in the game, so I might try "Ask Madden" for offense or Beginner play style.

Re: NFL Simulation Sliders 1.0 from Valdarez (tuned for Slow Gameplay)

just played two games....posting stats for one

Gm 1(11min qtr, 15sec runoff)
Rams(me)0 @ Giants(CPU)23

124 Total Offense 347
5(FIVE) Rushing 121
119 Passing 226
8 1st Downs 16
2-25 Penalties 1-5
20:53 TOP 23:07
10 Drop Passes 3

PASSING
E. Manning (giants) 16-24, 226yds, 2td, 1int
C. Ballard(rams) 13-33, 138yds, 0td, 2int

RUSHING
S. Jackson(rams) 11car 4yds(four)
A. Pittman(rams) 1car 1yd
C. Ballard(Rams) 1car 0yd

B. Jacobs(giants) 25car 121yds
A. Brown(giants) 2car 2yds
E. Manning(giants) 1car 2yds

Gm 2(15min, 25 sec runoff)
I was up 24-6 with 6+ min left in 2nd quarter when i quit the game
my QB 3/13, 36yds, 1td, 1int
tony romo 4/16, 30yds, 0td 1int

s. jackson(me) 5car 21yds
m. barber(cpu) 16car, 116yds

7 drop passes by my recievers

I think these are great sliders but I have problem with one or two things.
1. defending the run- the CPU overpowers my defense with their game
2. establishing the run- my run game is way off(i dont suck at running the ball, i took steven jackson to the probowl last year)
3. Drop passes- my recievers couldnt holdon to the pigskin even if it was tied, glued, and stapled to they hands

Thanks for the sliders

Ouch, only 5 rushing yards? Are you holding RT down when you run by any chance?

The comp only averaged roughly 4 yards a carry, seems about right, not overpowering.

One thing I have learned about tackling is that tackling from the side is typically when you don't make the tackle. If you control the defensive player and line up on the hit you take down the runner pretty much every time.

Unfortunately dropped passes are the best way to keep the QB's accuracy accurate. If you drop the QB's accuracy, then it increases the chances for interceptions and then the turnover ratios are way out of balance, as are the scores.

if by RT u mean R2 on the ps3 then yes i was pressing it but not until i had gained -8 yards on my first 3 carries when i wasnt pressing RT

concerning the dropped passes, can i move wr catching up a few clicks and not mess with the QB accuracy?

I suggest you move the sliders to wherever you need them to be in order to be challenged and have fun. Rams aren't the best team to being with, so you already have the deck stacked against you. I also suggest playing with a good team and seeing if better quality players yield better results first. Oh, and don't use that R2 button. R2 = Tackle Me Fast!

im tryna turn the rams into what thomas dimitroff has turn us(falcons) into
anyway i notice madden calls too many pass plays for my 1 year QB and gave steven jackson less than 15 carries per game
im sticking with calling plays from a preset button and just hittin it, no looking for a better play
Spoiler

if RT is the sprint button for the xbox than it's R2 for the ps3. speaking from experiencing not using the sprint button works unbelievably well if combined with the highlight stick/truck stick. my YPC jumped 1.2 yards with brandon jacobs from 3.2 to 4.4.

Re: NFL Simulation Sliders 1.0 from Valdarez (tuned for Slow Gameplay)

I think I finally found a set that I'm happy enough with to play franchise. I am in a fantasy draft franchise with these sliders and my first game was a very good one. I was down 32-33 with less than a minute left and won my 5wr Jet Sweep to work for a long touchdown and I won. I changed my speed threshold to 55 and the game was immensely better. I won in overtime my next game 23-20. I actually had difficulty running the ball. In the first game Ahmad Bradshaw had like 25 carries for 130 yards, and only 31 yards on 20 carries my next game. I changed to using Jukeman's fatigue and auto sub settings and it put out a really good game.

Re: NFL Simulation Sliders 1.0 from Valdarez (tuned for Slow Gameplay)

im still having problems running the ball but thanks valdarez for these sliders
i started my season on OCT 1 and had played only 2 games before i tried these yesterday evening, Im currently set to play week 7
this is the only set that allows me to play more than one game of madden in a day and not be bored
eventhough im 1-5 with the rams every game is a challenge and entertaining
again THANKS
