I went back to your original settings for human and AI passing sliders. This is on b/c... Just took some getting use to. The only slider I have adjusted now except for the running game is the int. slider for myself. I made it a little less potent due to some "blind" passing. The Ai pass rush game is great the way you have it-The AI pass game is better than what I did with my sliders.
Thanks for the sliders Steeler99-You did a great job on them. :-)...You made Madden fun again! I like the lower scoring games, your sliders make every score by myself or the Ai not feel cheap.

Great to hear coffee, I'm glad you like these. I may end up staying with the originals myself as I have yet to try the slightly updated version. I just wanted to at least try those few tweaks I mentioned and see what worked best. I would be very comfortable starting a franchise with my page 1 sliders right now, but I will give the updated set a try just to be sure ....

You and I think alike, I also prefer a strong defensive battle with low to average scores. Never been a big fan of high scoring shootouts in Madden or the NFL. [Reply]

I can't help you there ... I have all of mine at default for now. I thought I saw another thread for that discussion though ... try a search? [Reply]

hey steeler, i finally had a chance to get a game in with the sliders on the first page. i'm not going to get into a lengthy play-by-play breakdown or post stats, i just want to say that i had an incredible game against the ravens.

however, there were two things that were a bit off and i was hoping you could recommend something. i found that the cpu threw too many picks. i have a knack for calling the right plays, but it felt a bit excessive. also, another thing was that the human qb was way too inaccurate. i don't mind certain passes going off by a little bit, but some of these passes had me wondering wtf was that?!

other than that, the game played incredibly. thanks for these.:-) [Reply]

Think I will give these a try, but one question I have is what is the quarter length that you guys are playing on?? I normally play with 7 minute quarters but will up it if it gives me more realistic stats. Thanks and Steelers99 and will let you know when I play a game what I think. [Reply]

Yea, I dropped QB ACC down to 12 because I wanted to be able to differentiate between stud, average, and below average QB's, and also back-ups. Prior to dropping it down I really couldn't tell the difference between QB's ... basically felt like I could complete everything, even controlling QB's like Orton or Edwards. That's just too unrealistic to me, but if your finding it WAY too difficult just put QB ACC back to 15.

Assuming your playing as the Dolphins, I'm guessing you have Henne under center? Just for the heck of it try a game using a real solid Qb with it still at 12 and see what you think? I just don't want it to be as easy to complete 60% or better of my passes with a scrub as it is with a "Manning" and that's what it seemed I was doing before.

As far as the cpu throwing too many picks, I'm not sure what to say. I rarely ever get manual picks so it's up to my cpu controlled defenders in that area. I'd say I'm lucky if I get one or two picks per game, and I have several with none. You would have one or two options to eliminate that if you continue to see too many picks ... simply lower HUM INT which should cause more dropped picks, and/or decrease HUM PASS RUSH so the cpu QB has more time in the pocket to make better decisions (you could also increase CPU PASS BLK but then watch out for ultra-suction blocking!)

If your playing with the same team all the time I suggest controlling a different team or two just for test games. Controlling different teams/players gives you a real appreciation for the different skill sets different players and teams have and gives you a better overall feel of the sliders. i.e.

- strong RB w/weak O-line
- weak RB w/strong O-line
- strong d-line w/ weak DB's
- weak d-line w/ strong DB's, etc, etc [Reply]

For my test games I'm using 10 min qtrs w/ 15 second runoff, but for my real games I intend to use 12 min qtrs w/15 second runoff.

It depends on whether you use accelerated clock and how quickly you call your plays and hike the ball. For the most accurate stats you should use whatever time allows you to get 120-130 plays per game (both teams combined) ... that's what NFL games average. [Reply]

I was noticing way too many dropped passes as well so I bumped up WR CTH to 41 and dropped Hum PBK to 61.. I also noticed way too many errant throws with carson palmer so I bumped up QB ACC to 18. Other then those changes great sliders. [Reply]

yeah, i was using henne (i'm a bit of a homer :-)).

actually, i'll try one game with another team and another with henne at that same setting and see if i still like it at 12.

what number would you recommend setting the human int at? 20? [Reply]
